Full Text	Camp Butler Barracks Jan. 1, 1862. Mr J W Clark Dear Sir I now take the pleasure to write you a few lines to let you know how I like soldiering. I arrived at the barracks about noon Friday the boy's had just been moving in we have got pretty well settled now I was put on guard sunday there is some differance between camp and the way I have been used to they play cards all day sunday they have preaching too I have just come in from drilling we were mustered in yesterday I have my uniform but not
