Full Text	Des Moines, Iowa. Oct. 2nd 1864 Friend Sam, I presume you have quit soldiering - and got back home again. I wonder if you will be well contented - will remain at home for any length of time? - I hope not - hope you will not be satisfied until you get back to to D-- M-- again, for I am quite anxious to see you. I believe "Nels" is coming here soon now - at least he wrote me he was coming as soon as he was released. Mr Rippey passed through here a few days since - on his way to Adel. He
