My Dear Aunt: I seat myself this pleasant morning to reply to your charming letter with a greater feeling of disapointment than I have experienced in writing to you for a long while. Your letter has quite revolutionized my feelings in regard to visiting Ill. Half the attraction is gone, and I have very little inclination to put in execution my contemplated visit. I would like very much to see you hang yourself ~ to one of the genuine "lords of creation, but will be unable to do so, as the pressing demands of business here will detain me until long after the time you have set for the consumation of your happiness.
