Higgins. London. 1844.” 7. “Tales of Terror.” 8. Bingley’s Annual Biography , He adds, that when the bookseller to whom I apply, has got all these works together, or such of them as he “can get,” he wishes to know “the price of the whole lot, and he will send for them.” [page break] My friend is one of the most reliable /of/ men in the world . I will however pay for these books myself, if you can find them; only I must tell you that I cannot do so till the 11th of July (the day after I receive my quarter’s pension) otherwise I should have applied to you sooner, for I have had my friend’s letter by me some time, but was presecuted by unlooked for and [ ? ] circumstances from doing what it wished. The day of payment however is not perhaps now too distant to put the commission out of the pale of you ordinary mode of doing busi- [page break] ness . I should be glad at the same time if you could procure, for myself, an Italian book which I dare say you will often have met with; namely, the “Poesie Burlesche” of Berin and others . Be good enough to drop a line on these matters to Yours, dear Sir , Leigh Hunt To Mr. Miller Chandos Street . |
