My dear Hunt. I grieve that you were too late for September. The magazine was [?] made up when your delicious Berni arrived. How good it is.-

38 Brunswick Terrace Brighton Augt. 29th [1845] My dear Hunt. I grieve that you were too late for September. The magazine was [?] made up when your delicious Berni arrived. How good it is.— A proof will reach you in the beginning of the week when I shall also have the pleasure of saving you the honorarrium. So that you will not be in pocket, a sufferer ‘by the delay—though [page break] the awaiting public will be sufferers. However it is a good thing in others for them. Read Bulwer’s “Water Patient” in the forthcoming No., and tell me what you think of it. I am persuaded you will like it vastly—and I think it will [page break] make many comments. Here I am, batting and rambling over the pleasant and beautiful downs of Sussex. On the 10th I cross to France. Now, then, and soon your’s , W. Harrison Ainsworth. Of course, a chap always awaits you at Colburn’s. N [1] is ready. |
