1847

A happy new year to you, & many of them, as my nurse said to me this morning when she had lit my fire.
On Tuesday after my return from Kensington, I mentioned your plan to Mr. Miller who is here. He said that there was a tradition about Apsley House which he related to me. I requested him to write it out for me, which he has done, and I now send it to you. He wrote it in a great hurry, while tea was preparing and he wishes that you will take only the hint of the story from him, and /make it out/ rewrite it with amplifications a la Leigh Hunt

But Vincent may tell you if he should go that way -they were the two next /f/ Westward from Gloucester House which is at the ^western corner of Park Lane . This is all the information which I can send you to day -Have you seen a work published this year, no, in 46 -called ^An Antiquarian Rumble/s/ in the Streets of London by the late [?J.T.] -Smith, Author of |
