Dear Sir,
Allow an old man, and withal an unlettered one, to offer you his best thanks for the publication of your delightful little “Journal.” - in the seclusion from whence this is dated, it has been doubly welcomed by the interest expressed in our affairs. - To the correctness of your recent remarks on the Authorities and particularly those on the amiable Matron, Mrs Stone, the brethren generally bear testimony - yet of course we have our grievances, of which I fear, nothing but the influence of the public press will bring redress. - Our little pensions are not commensurate with the necessities of men who have been respectably brought up and connected, nor with the princely
