Dear Sir,
In the month of April 1853 you were good enough to make an Affidavit relative to a letter addressed to you by the late Lord Byron which referred to a legacy bequeathed to his Lordship by the late Mr. Shelley.
The subject of the legacy is still under investigation and the production of the original letter is required and a short affidavit made to the effect that the letter produced is the one referenced to in your former affidavit.
The production of it is required with a view to satisfy the strict [?burden] of evidence. It will of course not be parted with.
We will call upon you on Friday next at 3 o'clock on the matter unless we hear from you in the meantime that
