Sir;
For the third time I now address you: &, as I have but very little more to say, & I scarcely expect, that, after your previous obstinate silence, you will answer this, - although I certainly wish that such might be the case, - it will probably be the last time. - Suffice it to this that I make a general summary of the case: which is as follows: - that, in the year 1817, you, with several others, established a monthly magazine, which supported, in the most immoderate & intemperate manner, every oppressive & obnoxious measure of the Tory Government. & attacked, with unparalleled malignity, all authors, especially poetical ones, - whose politics differed from /your own/ those of its writers: - that the principal of these reviewers was yourself: - that above all, - (which is the fact which posterity will notice most) - when the party you supported was driven from power
