Dear Mr. Leigh Hunt-
At the moment on my return home to dinner-I am positively shocked to hear of Mrs. L. Hunt’s encountering such weather on my account from such a distance too! and I must scribble a few lines for this evening’s post that your kind mind may be set at rest-and not imagine that I “think myself a very ill used gentlewoman” by you. So far from it, that I feel all the reality of your kind intentions & wishes. I know you mention state of health, & your certain calls upon your valuable time- and had I not hoped to speak to you during the last four or five days- I should have written to you to tell you how my feelings & business has been upset-by the conduct of the Editor of
