To B. B. Thatcher Esqre . 6. Goodge Street, Newman Street, Oxford Road. [page break] Chelsea—April 19. [1838] Dear Sir , If you have an evening to spare next week, I shall be very glad to see you here to tea at 7 o'clock (or later, if it will suit you better) any day after Tuesday; nor will I apologize for the poorness of my abode or my fare, to one who has seen so much of the globe, & who writes to me with so interesting a combination of frankness, delicacy, & cordiality I should do myself the pleasure of asking you sooner; but between this & then, I shall be doing some work, which leaves me able to do little but rest after it; whereas, by that time, I shall [page break] willingly turn rest into refreshment. I am, dear Sir, Your sincere humble servant , Leigh Hunt. To B. B. Thatcher Esqre. &c. &c. |
