Brighton
Sunday morning, May 16th 1813.
My dearest Henry,
I was very glad as you may suppose to see your letter this morning. I hope before this you have received mine, and forgiven your dear girl. I could not tell you about Thorntons batheing, having been too ill to take him before yesterday 12 oclock; it seems to have agreed with him extremely well. I had not so much trouble as I expected, he cried at first, but he liked it very well at last, but he still calls it a "horrid warm bath." Did you ask Dr.Gooch about his riding on the donkey? he gets more entertaining every day. he is a very curious child certainly. How is it you have not seen Miss Edgworth yet? I scarcely feel thanks, being deprived of your society, everything else loses its sharpness. Oh Henry! my dear, dear Henry! but I know you have forgiven me. Heaven bless you. we shall be all happy and well again, and your dear girl will be with you again soon, and make your tea, and get your morning gown
