Ewell, Dec.7th. My dearest love, Though the golden wings have come safely, and you will see us a few hours after you receive this, yet I could not but write it, partly in order that you may get your cus¬tomary bulletin to the last, and partly to say that as we are not sure of the precise time the fly will be here, and as we have a right to our Monday's dinner, we shall take ditto; --the knowledge of which may perhaps save you some additional trouble.--I must not write much more, for Ewell lookers-in last night de¬layed our supper, which has made us late this morning, & the post time has nearly elapsed. So tomorrow, before dusk, look for us, all in your state, sitting in the front room, --or any where else;-- till when, & ever, God bless you prays heartily your loving husband , L.H. |
