My dear Sir,
I have recd from Mr Hotten your most welcome volume, & the very kind & flattering letter by which it is accompanied. To me the book is in the highest degree interesting, & I shall prize it greatly. I knew Leigh Hunt well for several years, & hold his memory in loving reverence. The article from the Spectator, which you quote at pp. 95-6-7, was by me.
