| Description | Engraved throughout. Description from v. 2; apparently the only v. of this edition extant (cf. Benton) "Dedicated to the King of Prussia." Paging and numbering of quartets apparently continuous through 4 v. Publisher's catalog: p. [24] of 1st violin part (v.2). Pl. no: 70 (v.2), Library has v.2 only. Vol. designation ["second"] written in ink on t.p. of 1st violin part only. Parts are saddle stitched, and have spines reinforced. First page of each quartet also numbered in ink with ordinal no. corresponding to position within complete publication; quartets of "second set" numbered 4-6. Typed note with annotations by Rita Benton, reflecting sale catalog listing for this item from Blackwell catalog, March 1972 (9 x 21 cm.) mounted inside front cover of portfolio. |
