DR. J. H. WILLIAMSON
Former Law Enforcement Commissioner, City of Chicago
248
DR. J. H. WILLIAMSON, former Law Enforcement Commissioner of Chicago, a noted minister, author and a lecturer with a national reputation, has been a keen student of politics and crime for many years. Dr. Williamson served as a public official when modern underworld syndicates like Al Capone's were being formed. He knows Chicago gangsters. He has fought them. He knows their methods of beating the law. There isn't an important gangster in Chicago who doesn't know him. He understands the difficulties prosecutors have with an antiquated court procedure in fighting gangsters. He has the facts and knows how to tell and apply them. He is fearless and outspoken.
The Five C's (Crime, Capone, Courts, Country, and Conscience) is the title of Dr. Williamson's startling and revealing new talk. This timely and most powerful exposition is right up-to-the-minute and brings out much that the newspapers do not publish and many things the courts have not yet observed. He offers a sane solution. He suggests what the leaders in any community might do in the solution of the crime problem in their own community.
Not long ago, Dr. Williamson gave The Five C's at a large State Teachers' College in Wisconsin as a convocation address. At the close of the hour, a member of the faculty got up and suggested that all classes be dismissed for the next hour as students and teachers would get more real value out of asking Dr. Williamson questions about things discussed in The Five C's than they would in their regular class sessions. A most interesting hour was absorbed in a forum discussion.
All of Dr. Williamson's talks are worth listening to, because they are interesting, human, vital, and valuable contributions to the solution of the crime problem. In addition to The Five C's, Dr. Williamson's lecture subjects include The Making and Breaking of a Nation, Crime and Criminals and The Making and Breaking of Character (for commencements).
What Others Say
WATERVILLE MORNING SENTINEL (MAINE)
Dr. J. H. Williamson was the speaker of the evening. One man was heard to remark—It was worth five dollars to me to hear him. The speaker's subject was Crime and Criminals and he gave a most forceful lecture, interspersing his talk with witty illustrations, giving his audience food for thought.

Br. John H. Williamson, former law enforcement commissioner of Chicago, spoke in Burlington last evening. One statement he made was that one way to stop crime wave in this country is to start cleaning up the courts and the legal profession. He is a man who is able to speak from considerable experience with crime conditions, and there are plenty of indications in the country that there is truth in his statements.
Presents His New Lecture Inside Out
★ His lecture of Inside Out is an authentic narrative, gathered from files, intimacies with persons and events in public and private affairs of inside government.
★ A revealing story of political operations as they function within our large cities, like unto Chicago.
