DR. GUSTAV GRAHN THRILLING MOTION PICTURE ADVENTURES
DR. GUSTAV GRAHN,
noted naturalist, lecturer, explorer and adventurer is one of the world's greatest photographers. His famous programs are unique travel and adventure entertainment with outstanding motion pictures. His marvelous films in technicolor have received the highest praise from film experts. Dr. Grahn has spent years on his great lecture-programs at a cost of many thousands of dollars.
Born in Sweden, a few miles from the Arctic circle, Dr. Grahn was initiated into Arctic thrills as a boy. Early in life, in true Viking spirit, his wanderlust brought him to America. Between years of schooling and the acquiring of a higher education, with graduate study at two European universities, travel and a flair of the unusual became his avocation.
The art of picture-taking grew as a natural accompaniment to his other activities. So absorbing did this hobby become that he now processes his own films in his private laboratory.
Dr. Grahn has a dynamic personality and a fine platform bearing. It is little wonder, then, that his outstanding pictures have won him fame on lecture platforms both here and abroad. Dr. Grahn's adventure articles have appeared in Sunday magazine sections and his pictures in the rotogravure sections of leading American newspapers. His book,
Mediterranean Adventures,
published in Europe, enjoys a wide circulation. His radio talks over national net-works have been well received.
LECTURE SUBJECTS:
The Fascinating Islands of the Caribbean
A world-famed photographer and traveler visits the Bahamas, Jamaica. Trinidad, Haiti and the Keys in his own yacht. Among other things he shows the arrival of the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor to the Bahamas. In a broadcast at Miami the Duke gave high praise to Dr. Grahn. All in beautiful natural color.
Cuba and Florida — Close Neighbors
In marvelous natural color Dr. Grahn shows the old castles and forts in Cuba, life on sugar and coffee plantations and in the cities. Sailing in his own yacht up and down the rivers of Florida, over the lakes, Dr. Grahn has taken excellent shots of wild life. Tourist centers on the East and West Coasts are not forgotten … shrimp fishing, etc.
American Holiday with Wild Life
An engrossing lecture illustrated with thrill-packed motion pictures of wild animal life in technicolor. Many scenes were taken in Alaska and the Rockies. Others in the vast wilderness areas of Canada, inaccessible except by pack train, boat, skis or airplane. This fascinating and dramatic record of wild life is the result of numerous expeditions.
Sweden and Finland
As a student Dr. Grahn attended Upsala University in Sweden and U. of Helsingfors in Finland. Before the war he covered both countries by motorcycle, automobile and airplane. His skiing ability enabled him to obtain pictures in remote places seldom visited. Part of film in natural color.
In Lion Land with the Movie Camera
Gustav Grahn, in person, gives you African adventures in thrilling motion pictures. Exciting battles with the beasts of the jungle, primitive savages in weird ceremonies and native dances. Dr. Grahn penetrated some of the world's wildest and most inaccessible regions, never before traversed by white men to get these remarkable pictures.
Dr. Grahn's motion pictures are in 35 mm and 16 mm —
Black and White and Natural Colors.
Dr. Grahn brings his special 16 mm machine which is powerful enough to give brilliant pictures for an audience as large as 2500. Whenever 35 mm film is desired, engaging party must provide projection and operator. Local screens are preferred, but a large screen is available.

Our people were all much pleased with the lecture and pictures as presented by Gustav Grahn. I think the pictures are the equal, if not superior to those shown by Mrs. Martin Johnson, which I saw in Ft. Wayne about a month ago.

We have had a good many pictures, as you readily can understand, but I really believe these were the most finished job and also were packed with more real pictures of animal and native life than any I have seen. We enjoyed it very much.
