Honorable
GEORGE L. KREECK
Distinguished American Diplomat
Stimulating Speaker Keen Observer
N. B.—No One is Better Equipped to Discuss South American Questions and Affairs.
Honorable George L. Kreeck
IN the Honorable George L. Kreeck, late Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the U. S. to Paraguay, the Redpath Bureau has finally secured a man high in diplomatic circles who can speak authoritatively, interestingly and well about our neighbor, South America.
Minister Kreeck has been in constant touch with the South American Republics for many years and has studied closely the political, social, industrial, economic and religious aspects of the nations. He has not only traveled in the southern countries but has lived in them and with their people, and is fortified with facts obtained by his years of personal field observations.
Minister Kreeck is a student of governmental principles and his keen observations make his addresses upon South American topics intensely interesting and illuminating. He inspires his audiences and holds their absorbed attention by the sincerity and frankness with which he speaks. With the genius of an orator he carries his listeners into the countries discussed, so vivid and clear are his descriptions of places, customs, peoples, etc. His addresses are not an array of dry statistics or theories but alert discussions drawn from a fund of knowledge, personally acquired after years of contact with all currents of South American life and activity.
Story of South America Interestingly Told by Famous Diplomat
Extract from a letter written by MR. KREECK from Buenos Aires, August 30, 1941 …If you want the latest and best on South America, I have it. Just finishing a visit to each of the southern Republics. If ever a man was lucky, I am the one…I travelled south on a Japanese ship. Members of the Imperial Mission of Friendship to S. A. from Japan were on board. Several high German officials were also en route to their diplomatic posts…I I was in Ecuador when Peru took over one of the gold mines…I was in Colombia when Congress passed legislation against 5th Column activities…I was in Peru when a German plot was discovered…I was in Bolivia when the German minister was ordered to leave the country…I was in Chili when the Germans were given so many hours to leave…I was in Paraguay when martial law was declared…I was in Argentine, when the German Embassy came into bad-odor…I have visited the Germany of S.A.…And I still am to visit Brazil and Venezuela…With my diplomatic privileges and knowledge of the people and their language, much is available to me not permitted others.....................
