Famous Indian Personalities
Jehan Warliker, Prince Seesodia, was born in India and on the death of his Mother was taken as a young child to England and was educated first by a Private Tutor, then at Harrow-on-the-Hill, Cambridge, London University, and the Bar Middle Temple Inn, where he graduated in Arts and Law.
After completing his studies he returned to India only to find that some of his brethren regarded him almost as a stranger, polluted and unclean after his long sojourn in foreign lands.
Meditates for Years
Disgusted at such ignorance, bigotry, injustice and slavery to religious ritual and worship and at the frightful penury and ignorance existent everywhere, he forsook everything and went among the people, living as a peasant, meditating with the Yogis, studying the different philosophies and rituals trying to understand the minds of his people and the cause of their backwardness and the non-unity amongst themselves.
After some years of this life he came to the conclusion that the only hope for India was Education and Industrialism. He traveled for several years in Europe and the Far East gathering information and data of every kind, and was recently actively connected with the largest Industrial Corporation in India.
He speaks French, German, Russian, English and Hindustani. He left India in the latter part of 1926 and came to America on a short visit in 1927.
Being impressed with the interest that Americans take in India, he recently returned to this country to further his business interests and is giving a series of lectures on his native country, India.
