T
HE FULCHER ENTERTAINERS have been pronounced on all sides a splendid trio. They are versatile and their work is unique and pleasing. They have been a success from the start, and it is a pleasure to present them. Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher is unquestionably one of the foremost contemporary readers. She is a post-graduate in the School of Naturalness. As an exponent of negro dialect it is doubtful if Mrs. Fulcher has really ever been equalled. Her work rings true; it is not the over-exaggerated kind, but is a natural gift, perfected by study and experience, as well as association.
Miss Evangeline Fulcher is a delightful singer. She possesses a beautiful soprano voice of phenomenal range and power. It has been said again and again of Miss Fulcher that she sings her way right down into the hearts of the people. Given natural beauty, splendid voice and charming stage presence, it is no wonder that Miss Fulcher is so successful. As a monologist also, Miss Fulcher has been accorded unstinted praise; her

Mr. Maurice Lee Fulcher is a pianist of sterling worth. He combines technical ability with artistic interpretation and the result is at once successful and pleasing. As an impersonator Mr. Fulcher is an artist.—

Reports From The Press
Daily Favorite, Bonham, Texas:
Each member of the Fulcher Company is an artist and the attraction as a whole is considered one of the best that has ever appeared here.
Globe-Democrat, St. Louis, Mo.:
Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher's rendition of negro dialect is delightful. Her work in Ruth McEnery Stuart's 'Moriah's Mourning' was the best heard in that line in a long time.
Daily Argus, Van Buren, Ark.:
So highly pleased were those present last evening at the Fulcher's entertainment that it was decided to secure at once another date if possible. It was one of the best pleased audiences that ever assembled in Van Buren.
Daily Express, Chickasha, I. T.:
The program at the Chautauqua last evening was opened by the Fulcher Entertainers, who had made their initial appearance at the afternoon session. They are a wonderfully talented family and have a wide reputation as entertainers.
The Colorado Citizen, Columbus, Texas:
Last Monday night the Fulcher family, Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher, Miss Evangeline and Mr. Maurice, appeared at the Lone Star Opera House, being the fifth number on the High School Lyceum Course. The performance was 'high-toned' and absorbingly interesting. Mrs. Fulcher gave some fine readings, especially the dialect reading of the old negro woman. Miss Fulcher possesses rare beauty and a voice rich and faultless, of which she was very generous with her audience. Mr. Fulcher is a very versatile entertainer, being a brilliant pianist, and also being able to assume amusing roles with ease and abandon. They all left a very pleasant remembrance.
Shreveport Times, Shreveport, La.:
The Civic Improvement League, Minden:
Our unusually quiet, restful old town has never in its history been more enlivened, pleased and splendidly entertained than on last evening when the Fulcher Entertainers gave before a very large audience here one of their superb displays of versatility of genius in creating moods that vary from grave to gay and from laughter to tears. Their work is delightful, and we earnestly hope to see and hear them again 'ere long.
Daily Republican, Hobart, Oklahoma:
The afternoon session Friday of the Chautauqua was given over to the Fulcher Entertainers. The Fulchers, Miss Evangeline, Mr. Maurice and their mother, Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher, are interesting. Mrs. Fulcher in her negro dialect readings is as near perfection as it is possible for a white impersonator to be. Miss Evangeline Fulcher is blessed with an unusually beautiful voice and captivated her audience with her singing. Maurice Fulcher is both an excellent pianist and impersonator.
Springfield Republican, Springfield, Mo.:
The entertainment at the Normal School given by the Fulcher Entertainers of St. Louis was most excellent in every respect. Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher, formerly teacher of expression of the Normal, ranks with the great dialecticians of the country. She is especially fine in negro dialect. Miss Evangeline Fulcher sang a group of old Scotch and English songs in a most artistic manner. Miss Fulcher is a beautiful young woman and has a very winning stage presence. Mr. Maurice Fulcher's impersonation of Stella Marigold was 'rich.' As a character reader and impersonator, Mr. Fulcher has no superior on the platform.
Comment by Persons of Note
Sunshine Hawks, Baltimore, Maryland:
It is with pleasure that I commend the Fulcher Entertainers.
J. Addison Smith, Pastor Presbyterian Church, Pattonville, Missouri:
Get the Fulchers and you will have a mortgage on a delightful evening.
Rev. Harvey A. Jones, Kansas City, Missouri:
I know the Fulchers like a book. They are all good conscientious, religious people. They put the same quality into their living that they do in their entertainments—the very best. I commend them without reserve to all who want a high-grade, first-class entertainment.
Captain Richmond Pearson Hobson, Congressman from Alabama:
I have heard the Fulcher Entertainers several times, and always with delight. They are talented and versatile and their work is artistic. It is wholesome and highly entertaining; at times amusing; at other times pathetic; at other times stirring. I take pleasure in commending them.
Dr. H. W. Sears, Popular Lecturer:
I heard the Fulcher family at Chickasha and they charmed me with their splendid versatile program. Mrs. Fulcher has the purest negro dialect I have ever heard. Miss Fulcher has one of the sweetest voices on the platform, while Mr. Fulcher stands alone in his work. I commend these people to all Chautauqua superintendents who want a combination of stars.
C. B. Landis, Congressman from Indiana:
Mrs. Fulcher has certainly placed Chautauqua and lecture associations under obligations to her for many, many years. She is not only an artist herself, but she has given the platform two adornments in her son and daughter. I do not believe Mrs. Fulcher has an equal in negro dialect work. She is a marvel in her readings. Miss Fulcher easily captivates an audience. Her rare beauty is supplemented with a voice of singular sweetness and she sings herself right into the hearts of her audience.
Rev. J. W. Reynolds, Clinton, Illinois, writes:
The audience was charmed and delighted with the Fulcher Entertainers. It has been said on every hand that this was the most refining and elevating entertainment ever given in the city of Clinton. The members of this trio are all artists of the first magnitude in their respective lines. Mrs. Cornelia Fulcher is the only real delineator of negro dialect it has ever been my pleasure to hear, and I have heard a great many attempt it. Miss Fulcher has a beautiful voice; she sings apparently without an effort and her enunciation is delightfully clear. Mr. Maurice Fulcher is one of the best impersonators that has ever appeared here, and his piano playing is artistic. Clinton will hail with delight the Fulchers' return.
Dr. James Hedley, Lecturer, Cleveland, Ohio:
It was my very great pleasure to hear the entertainment given by the Fulchers at Tishomingo Chautauqua. It was most beautiful and effective.
