Redpath Announces Establishment of
Department of Scientific Research
WILL BE HEADED BY DR. HILTON I. JONES SCIENTIFIC INVESTIGATOR AND LECTURER
DOCTOR JONES IN THE MIDST OF A DEMONSTRATION
CONSISTENT with its well-known public service ideals, the Redpath Bureau announces the establishment of a Department of Scientific Research, with an experimental laboratory in Chicago, and the engagement of Dr. Hilton I. Jones, prominent scientist and lecturer, as director.
This is an absolute innovation in the Lyceum movement and has unlimited possibilities for giving public service. The Bureau is especially fortunate in securing the services of Doctor Jones, one of the well-known experimenting scientists, to direct the department. Doctor Jones is a fellow in the American Academy for the Advancement of Science; a member of the Chemical Society, London; of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and was the organizer of the South Dakota Academy of Science. He has written articles which have appeared in the leading scientific publications. He is at present head of the department of chemistry at Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College, which position he will resign to take charge of the new Redpath department.
Doctor Jones will make a lecture tour each season under Redpath management. He carries with him a great deal of apparatus, and in the course of his lectures gives demonstrations which make the content of the lecture infinitely valuable and practical.
