Figure
ERIC MANN is a well known Austrian actor with a rare combination of delightful personality and a keen informative viewpoint. He has in his possession some rare and extremely valuable films, including the only motion pictures of the EMPEROR FRANCIS JOSEF, pictures of the wedding of the EMPEROR KARL, as well as recent films showing the former KING OF ENGLAND, ARTURO TOSCANINI and other world celebrities in Austria. Combining these films with sprightly comment and explanations he has created a new and entirely delightful type of lecture program.
Eric Mann himself is a well known figure both in Europe and in the United States where he appeared in the first post war production of
The Student Prince in Heidelberg,
starred in
Lost my Heart in Heidelberg
and sang one of the first Lohengrins to be put on the air here.
He abandoned the stage for the lecture platform and shortly became known as an authority on world literature to which he has devoted many years of study.
His present series of lectures are of informal nature and possess a high entertainment and artistic value. The lectures deal chiefly with the more lively aspects of Austrian culture.

ERIC MANN
Lecture recitals combining travel, adventure, art and music.
All the charm of Vienna and a wealth of Austria's most interesting phases are caught in these sound films. They are richly rewarding in themselves, but as introduced and explained by Eric Mann they are a delightful program.
Vienna is inimitable — Austria is gorgeous — The Alps are magnificent—and the films are all of these. It's fascinating entertainment and unforgettable addition to knowledge and background.

Dear Mr. Mann:
Your lecture on
Vienna the Glamorous
, delivered to the members of the National Geographic Society last Friday evening, was splendidly received, and I wish to congratulate you on the fine quality of your motion pictures. You have covered everything from the striking Alpine shots showing Hans Schneider's famous skiing school to glamorous Vienna and Salzburg, home of the famous music festival. A modern touch has been lent to your lecture by the use of sound. The way you have woven in the Viennese waltzes as an accompaniment to your pictures is most pleasing.
I am glad to write you this letter to tell you how pleased our members were with your lecture. Kind regards.
Sincerely yours,
Melville B. Grosvenor National Geographic Society Washington, D. C.
Mr. Mann's motion film is uncommonly interesting and appealing.
