CRITERION QUARTETTEWESTERN TRIP, UNDER REDPATH MANAGEMENT
A VERITABLE TRIUMPH
TRAVELLED OVER 7,500 MILES
Thro' the States of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and also CanadaACCLAIMED EVERYWHERE BY PRESS AND CRITIC
CANADAPERFECT ATTACK-PERFECT BALANCEIn listening to the Criterion Male Quartet of New York City, in Scott's Opera House last night, one was particularly struck by the richness and mellowness of the voices. For beauty of tone quality alone the Criterion Quartet might rank first among such organizations on this continent. But there was more, perfect attack, perfect balance of parts, and enunciation and the ability to express every shade of feeling grave and gay.Galt Daily Reporter--Galt, Ontario.SENT THEM AWAY SATISFIEDThe Criterion Quartet sang its way into the sympathetic consideration of an audience that filled City Hall last night and sent their hearers away feeling that they had spent an enjoyable and profitable evening.Daily Herald--Stratford, Ontario.PERFECTLY BALANCEDThe Criterion Quartet is a perfectly balanced organization and a happily adjusted musical combination. The Y.M.C.A. Committee in charge is to be congratulated in giving Stratford this treat.Stratford Daily Beacon--Stratford, Ontario.OHIOENTERTAINERS FIRST OF ALLThe Criterion are not content with a cold impersonal sort of program, which leaves to the audience only a discussion of its technical worth. They are entertainers first of all and their selections were evidently chosen on that basis. Friendly relations were established in the early numbers and were strengthened by succeeding ones until the audience and entertainers fairly beamed at one another across the footlights.Star and Beacon--Ashtabula, Ohio.CREATED A GENUINE SENSATIONThe Criterion Quartet created a genuine sensation locally on Friday. As individuals, the members of the Quartet are vocalists of most unusual ability and their voices of high quality and blending to a nicety, singing with finished style and clear enunciation which makes their music a delight.Register--Sandusky, Ohio.IOWABEAUTY OF TONETheir voices in Quartet work blend perfectly and their solo numbers were given with beauty of tone.Gazette--Cedar Rapids, Iowa.VOICES BLENDING PERFECTLYThe ensemble work of the Quartet was fine, the voices blending perfectly.Times--Cedar Rapids, Iowa.SOUTH DAKOTAAN EXTENSIVE REPERTOIREEvery number on the program was appreciated by the audience and the range of selection showed the Quartet to have an extensive repertoire.Gazette--Mitchell, So. Dakota.THEIR WORK DIFFICULT TO SURPASSEach member of the Quartet is an artist and in both solo and ensemble, the work would be difficult to surpass. The varied repertoire of the singers made it possible for them to please every hearer from the ones who enjoy the most classical selections, to the ones who wish to hear the old favorites.Morning Republican--Mitchell, So. DakotaMINNESOTASOLOISTS OF RARE MERITEach member of the Quartet was a soloist of rare merit and the blending of the voices was the best heard here in some time.Freeborn County Standard--Albert Lea, Minn.A PERFECT ENSEMBLEOne of the greatest musical events of the year was given last night by the Criterion Male Quartet of New York. From the first it was evident that the Quartet was going to meet all expectations; seldom is there heard a Male Quartet whose voices are better balanced and blended than are those of the Criterions; each voice was typical of the part it took, each member is a soloist of the first class and yet fitted perfectly into the ensemble.Evening Tribune--Albert Lea, Minn.FOR TERMS, DATES, ETC.
