MAJ. THOMAS A. B. DITTON
From a quarter-of-a-century of action under five flags, with a military background such as few Americans can boast, MAJ. THOMAS DITTON presents a thought-provoking war analysis based on expert knowledge. He brings a clear picture of war on all fronts, because he has served in actual land and sea warfare in practically all of the areas in which fighting is now going on. Without resorting to sensationalism or scare-mongering, his talk is abreast of and frequently ahead of the headlines. He has fought in the air, on the sea and with the land forces in an unbelievable, adventure-studded career. His authoritative reports are based on long years of study of military strategy and far-reaching sources of information.
MAJ. DITTON has flown with Britain's RAF and commanded a submarine chaser. He has ridden with the Lancers in India, and with the Somaliland Camel Corps in Africa. He has an extensive knowledge of the North African field of operations. For gallantry under fire he has been decorated by five governments.
In order to get the truth about the Battle of the Atlantic, MAJ. DITTON shipped as an officer on an English armed merchantman. On one trip the convoy came through three U-boat attacks, in one of which the Destroyer REUBEN-JAMES was sunk, and the Salinas torpedoed. He was one of the handful of observers to be assigned to cover the raid of the Commandos and Rangers at Dieppe. He saw the holding of the port against Nazi strength for nine hours and the successful synchronization of American and British efforts in the historic invasion test. He has seen the intense training being given American troops and flyers in the British Isles before they are sent into action. He has obtained the reaction of the British and Irish to the large-scale American help in materials and troops now reaching those training centers.
As an American citizen, he appraises every phase of the war situation from the American point of view. His lectures command attention. Every minute of his talk is informative, thought-provoking and good entertainment as well.

MAJOR DITTON gave us a very fine talk. He also stayed and answered questions from the floor for almost an hour. Everyone that I have talked to today says that he was one of the most interesting speakers we have had at any of our meetings.
A. H. SHUMWAY, Secretary Treasurer Brattleboro, Vermont, Chamber of Commerce
Your Major Ditton made a big hit at our New England District Kiwanis Convention. Everyone was loud in their praises, not only of his ability, but also of him. He's a real gentleman.
RUSSELL L. NORTON, Secretary New England District Kiwanis
MAJOR THOMAS DITTON did a splendid job in his lecture at the student convocation yesterday. He held the students' attention from start to finish of the talk and we enjoyed especially his easy informality of manner and his readiness in speaking extemporaneously. The raid on Dieppe was pictured in vivid and realistic manner. We are glad he could come and we appreciate your kind help in making the arrangement.
JAMES W. BURKE, Secretary Massachusetts State College Amherst
