ELECTRA PLATT and VERNON STONE
Royal Entertainers To His Majesty The American Citizen
PARAMOUNT
Figure
Vernon Stone
is the Artist here presented to you.
He'd so many instruments he didn't know what to do,
So he studied and studied, and this is no stall.
With greatest of ease he soon mastered them all.
DID YOU ever take a handsaw and play the Hungarian Rhapsodie on it?
Did you ever snatch away from a little girl down the street her pet balloon and perform a solo that sounds like a great violinist—as you let the air in and out?
Of course you never did!
But wait until Fred Stone—beg pardon, I mean Vernon Stone, we always get these famous cousins mixed in our minds—wait until Vernon Stone takes a handsaw and plays it like a 'cello and brings forth music as sweet as a flute. And wait until he takes the balloon, which is the biggest novelty on the stage today, and plays it—gloriously!
Everybody knows Fred Stone—familiarly called the Pastor Comedian of Montgomery and Stone. Nearly as many people know Vernon Stone and Electra Platt. They talk, play, mime, and have a wonderful time with the audience.
They are genuine mirth provokers. Stone plays the banjo, one-string radio fiddle, piano, violin, saxophone, and Miss Platt is a comedienne, soprano, pianiste, saxophoniste, artist and writer. You'll never forget her burlesque sketch, My Wedding Day.

WHAT would you be willing to give for a genuine, hearty laugh? Multiply this by a thousand and one and you will find the laugh value of the Fun Festival Programs of Electra Platt and Vernon Stone. From the start they will keep you either in an uproar of laughter with inimitable monologues and stories or you will be keen with interest in their musical novelties on a variety of instruments.
Electra Platt is a comedian, soprano, pianiste, saxophoniste, artist and writer. Her impersonations, including an original sketch, My Wedding Day, are side-splitters and have won for her the appellation, The Queen of Entertainers.
Vernon Stone, first cousin of Fred Stone, of Montgomery and Stone fame, is likewise a comedian of the first rank. He is a wizard on the banjo and the one-string fiddle, but before his program is over he will have played for you his musical saw, the piano, violin and saxophone, in a way that will make you marvel.
These artists are genuine mirth provokers. Your memory of them will make you happy for many months to come. Their jokes and novelties will never be forgotten.

WHY
Stone and Platt are Known as Royal Entertainers To His Majesty — The American Citizen
RECENT PRESS COMMENT.
If you want to be genuinely amused, hear the Glad-Stones. They are just the funniest ever.
Miss Platt has built a program, principally monologue, that could be worshipped without breaking the second commandment; for it is like nothing else in heaven, on the earth or under the sea. It sparkles, it wails, it rolls its eyes like a wall-eyed nigger in a melon patch, it dances like a fairy and it pounds the paving like an elephant or a policeman; it sings, it joshes like Artemus Ward, it lectures like a pessimist with a face so long he could eat oat meal out of a churn.
Mr. Stone has some clever musical novelties, and a million dollar sense of humor; but the public has its eyes on the Platt part of the combination. And so are the Platt eyes on the public; they are the most wonderful eyes. Besides what they are, they see the beautiful things, the laughable things, the hopeful things of life.
Its worth the price of a deficit, merely to look at and through. The STONE and PLATT program is a genuine treat.—
The Oregon Statesman.
Galveston, Texas. Galveston News.
Vernon Stone and Electra Platt were the pair responsible for a rare combination of fun and good music. Miss Platt in addition to being an original impersonator, sings and plays saxophone and piano.
Mr. Stone is an exceptional violin and banjo soloist, in fact he plays almost any kind of a stringed instrument. Some merry monologue, dialogue and witty nonsense is scattered thru their program. Both made a most favorable impression and will be heartily welcomed here again.
Twin Falls, Idaho. Twin Falls Daily Times.
The Glad-Stones consisting of Electra Platt and Vernon Stone, created the wildest enthusiasm and nearly shook down the auditorium through the peals of laughter they caused. Their success was as unqualified as it was unexpected, since they had not been heralded with trumpet or cymbal sound. They were the funniest folk ever seen here and had the rare virtue of not over-doing a good thing.
Riverside, Calif. Riverside Enterprise.
Patrons got more real merriment out of last night's attraction than from anything lately seen in Riverside.
Electra Platt and Vernon Stone proved to be fun makers of a high type.
Miss Platt in monologue and what appeared to be some extemporaneous humor kept the audience in a suppressed roar. Her comments about her saxophone playing were enjoyed but her playing was no less clever even tho she made sport of her abilities.
Laramie, Wyoming. The Laramie Republican.
The chief performers last evening were Electra Platt and Vernon Stone, the prime movers in the waves of laughter that repeatedly swept the audience. They carried the spectators along with them in a continuous burst of amusement. You can't remember all they said and did but as you leave, there is a warm glow thru you that shows that you have enjoyed it and feel better for the relaxation hearty laughter brings. Miss Platt is an unusual monologist and the material she uses is original. Mr. Stone contributed generously to the enjoyment. He is a brilliant violinist and shows equal ability on the banjo, a common garden variety saw and some other remarkable instruments of his own creation. They are a great pair and come justly by the title, Prince and Princes of Mirth.
Walla Walla, Wash. The Walla Walla Union.
The program of the evening was given by Electra Platt and Vernon Stone, two stellar entertainers, who kept the audience in tears—of laughter. Miss Platt is a splendid vocalist and most original, spontaneous and subtle fun dispenser and gloom chaser. Vernon Stone is first cousin of Fred Stone, the famous comedian. Some astonishing novelties were introduced by him, among these an instrument which he stated was a cross between a Chinese Fiddle and a Corn-Planter, producing a tone like a hair lipped bugler. The Stones are among the best entertainers before the public to-day and it is hoped that we shall hear them again in Walla Walla.
Yuma, Arizona.
Electra Platt and Vernon Stone are a live wire pair. Miss Platt is a whole show by herself. She simply talks and laughs, such an infectious laugh that everyone laughs with her. She has plenty of personality which is a great asset on the stage. Mr. Stone is a Musical Genius. He is known as The One String Wizard, thru his ability to get real music from a one-string cigar box fiddle, which cuts up some comical antics besides.
With a fiddle bow he plays some popular numbers on an ordinary carpenter's saw with a resonant tone and shading that is amazing. He also did some splendid work on the banjo.
