ARCTIC FRONTIERS
ALASKA TO ICELAND Covering Arctic America, The Empire of the North
SYDNEY R. MONTAGUE
ARCTIC FRONTIERS — what are our Arctic frontiers? What part will the Arctic play in our future? Should we be concerned with the coming relations of the Arctic and the civilized world? What are the answers to these questions of alert Americans?
The answers offered by this man Montague, former member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, now lecturer and author, are founded on the experience of six and one half years in the service, three of which were spent in the Far North above Hudsons Bay; founded on observations and knowledge derived from season after season of unwavering popularity on the lecture platform; founded on personal research and examination of the interdependence of the Far North and territories now engulfed in war.
The next migration of man, to come when this war is over, will be north to Canada and the Arctic Circle, and this great migration will provide an outlet for the war generations returning from battle, says Mr. Montague. Alaska and Northwestern Canada have many 'Ruhr Valleys' tremendously rich in oil, coal and iron ore. This large almost untracked area covers one million square miles of undeveloped wealth.
These angles covered and the generally unknown information propounded by Sydney R. Montague are brought to attention in his new lecture, ARCTIC FRONTIERS.
The precedent of his former lectures is difficult to surpass, but Montague rings the bell again!
