CHICAGO AMERICAN, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 1937
A scene from Progressive Poland taken from Canfield Cook's new colorful travelogue film for which extensive showings have been planned in the Chicago area during the coming Winter season. Here, the lecturer is shown (in the foreground) participating in the gala wedding festivities in honor of a newly married couple.
New Travelogue Film to Portray Polish Life and Customs
Of special interest in Canfield Cook's new travelogue film Progressive Poland are scenes showing the beautiful national costumes worn in various sections of the country. As an official visitor Mr. Cook was accorded special privileges by the government in the filming of historic castles thus linking Poland's glorious past with the amazing achievements of the new Republic. During his stay in Poland, Mr. Cook was invited to the summer palace at Spala and there interviewed President Ignacy Moscicki and secured exclusive scenes of the chief executive with his family. In the film a special greeting is addressed to Polish-Americans by the President. The first scheduled showing of the film locally is before members of Evanston's University Club on December 4.
