MARJORIE COLE CONCERT VIOLINIST
Miss Marjorie Cole of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music gave an ambitious program at the Conservatory on Thursday evening, a program of violin pieces not usually known nor often heard in local recitals. She played these in good style and with authority.
ENQUIRER—CINCINNATI, OHIO.
Musical numbers by Miss Marjorie Cole well-known violinist of Cincinnati featured the musical given in her honor at Miss Faudels' home, Monday night. Miss Cole played with great accuracy. Her bow was firm and her expression, which suggested depth of feeling without sentimentality made her smoothness of technique unobtrusive. Her good wrist control was demonstrated when she played The Village Dance by Cecil Burleigh, which calls for some difficult spicato bowing.
During the recent conference of Music clubs held in Miami, Miss Cole fittingly appeared several times for solo numbers which were always artistically rendered and a delight to her audience.
DAILY METROPOLIS—MIAMI, FLORIDA.
One of the most beautiful programs of Monteagle's season was that of the chamber concert today at which Miss Marjorie Cole and Mr. Ernest Daulton gave the Mozart Sonata No. 4 for violin and piano. It was exquisitely rendered with satisfying technique. The delicate color shadings were interrupted by the sudden fortissimo as is Mozart's style. It won unstinted applause.
NASHVILLE BANNER—NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE.
Miss Marjorie Cole a talented young violinist gave a joint recital Thursday with Miss Bertha Foster, director of the Miami Conservatory. This youthful violinist, who has achieved much is a graduate pupil of Jean ten Have, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Since she has been in Miami she has contributed many artistic selections to the different musical programs among which the various parlor recitals and the programs of the League of American Penwomen play a conspicuous part.
Miss Cole has a modest and altogether charming personality which expresses itself in the sincerity of her music. The musical critics in Miami are expecting greater things from her.
