EXTRACTS FROM COMMENTS ON RECENT LECTURES.
Winnebago (Ia.) Republican, July 19, 1911.
—From the fullness of his experience and observation he has a message that it pays to hear.
Perry (Ia.) Advertiser, July 25, 1911.
—George B. Mangold, Ph. D., delivered the opening lecture of the week, and most apt and powerful he proved himself to be. Popularized as his lecture was, yet there was that within it which created an appetite for more.
Milan (Mo.) Standard, Aug. 24, 1911.
—A fine audience assembled to hear Dr. Mangold in his great popular lecture on Environment. This address was the high water mark of Dr. Mangold's splendid work throughout the Chautauqua. We heartily recommend the Doctor and his great lecture to the lecture course of people and managers of chautauqua assemblies.
Warrenton Banner, Sept. 1, 1911.
—Sunday evening Dr. Geo. B. Mangold gave his masterful lecture:
The Message of Environment.
He brought out in a most striking manner the influence of conditions and habits on the mind and body and was heard with profit by a large audience. He is a pronounced optimist, and this feature of his talk left a decidedly favorable impression.
Professor Geo. H. Betts, Cornell College.
—Dr. Mangold possesses in an exceptional degree the power to present great truths in a simple and attractive manner. His eminent scholarship and his intimate knowledge of the problems connected with the child make him especially helpful as a lecturer before teachers. He has had much experience on the public platform, is a clear, ready and forceful speaker, and, better still, always holds the interest and attention of his audience. I wish that all our teachers might hear him.
