Marshall, Edward A.
LET NOTHING KEEP YOU FROM SEEING THE REMARKABLE
Lecture Demonstrations
EXPLAINING
BIBLE MANNERS & CUSTOMS IN THE TIME OF CHRIST
This is not a stereopticon, a movie, or a chalk talk, but something new. It is a panorama sixteen feet long built before your eyes, showing village life in Palestine.
The pictures were painted by Mrs. E. A. Marshall, a graduate of the Chicago Art Institute. They are valued at $3000.00 and are the only ones in America.
The Lecture Are Given by EDWARD A. MARSHALL
Mr. Marshall has been twice around the world, visiting more than twenty-five countries. He lived in Jerusalem and visited every section of Palestine. Since returning he has addressed large audiences in practically every state in the union. For six years he lectured for the REDPATH CHAUTAUQUA.

Dear Mr. Marshall:
I do not know when I have listened to a talk any more interesting and instructive than the one you gave in our church. The picture which you built up and explained, is not only obviously and painstakingly accurate, historically, but is really beautiful, and makes clear many expressions of the Old Testament which otherwise would be vague and even misleading. This is not an individual expression, because a number of our members, including Mrs. Gray, who, as you know, is a Bible student, have expressed themselves in a similar vein.
I wish you every success in this constructive and effective work.
Very truly yours,
(Signed) C. A. GRAY.

Excerpts from Pastor's Letters
Rev. John W. Dunning, D. D., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Kalamazoo, Mich., wrote of the lecture in his church.
Everyone was delighted with it. It was full of information strikingly told and presented in a way to create a lasting impression. There were about 1400 present and they gave you the closest attention. I am not surprised to know of the great success you are having with the lectures everywhere. It is worthy of the attention of everyone. If my recommendation to any pastor who may be considering using it, has value you can assure them of my heartiest endorsement.
Rev. Wesley P. Pearce, pastor, First Baptist Church, Kokomo, Ind.
My people were delighted with the address and the unique method of making it live before their eyes. I have heard nothing but the highest praise. As a brother minister said publicly at the close: 'We will go home to read our Bibles with a new relish.' I commend it most highly and would that every church might have the benefit and pleasure of hearing it. Our churches need it.
Rev. A. B. Morrow, pastor First Presbyterian Church, Pontiac, Ill.
Our people enjoyed it as they have enjoyed no lecture which has been given in our church since I came to this pastorate.
Rev. Elmer Ward Cole, D. D., pastor of the First Christian Church, South Bend. Ind., wrote concerning the lecture:
It is one of the most inspirational, educational and helpful lectures I have ever heard. * * * I consider it of infinitely more value to those interested in the Bible than the
King of Kings
or any other moving picture of its type. No words can describe it; it must be seen for itself. It ought to be delivered in every church in the country.
Rev. U. S. Clutton, pastor Tuxedo Park Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Ind.
It was one of the most informing things we ever had, and our folks were carried away with not only the method of presentation, but with the mass of Bible facts and information which were so forcefully and vividly portrayed.
Rev. A. A. De Larme, pastor First Baptist Church, Omaha, Neb.
I shall be very glad to speak a good word for your splendid and unique lecture on Palestine, wherever and whenever I have an opportunity.
Rev. A. H. Backus, pastor M. E. Church, Peru, Ind.
I cannot refrain from giving expression to my supreme delight in witnessing your remarkable panorama of the Life and Times of Christ. I wish every Sunday School in America could see and hear your lecture.
Pastor's After-Lecture Remarks
That is the best lecture we ever had in our church.
said by many pastors.
Mr. Marshall if you have any other lectures like this bring them on. We want them.
That lecture is a church builder.
An aged pastor said.
Friends I wish I could have had that knowledge as a background for my ministry.
I wish all our congregation could have heard this lecture.
One pastor drove to the second and then the third towns to hear the lecture repeated and said:
I want to get this in my system.
A pastor of a small congregation said,
Mr. Marshall, I put a dollar in the collection but here is another. Your lecture was worth it.
Mr. Marshall is doing a new and a great work. We should follow him with our prayers.
Mrs. Marshall shows wonderful skill in painting such realistic pictures.
Next to a visit to Palestine, that is the best thing I have ever seen.
What Church Members Said
An Editor remarks,
That is the best lecture I ever heard.
A lady eighty-three years old said,
My brother, you have made the Bible a new book to me.
A S. S. teacher wrote,
I used your lecture three times in my next Sunday class.
I would not have missed this lecture for anything.
A S. S. superintendent came to hear the lecture in four towns and said,
I want to get this by heart.
A little girl said to Mr. Marshall,
The Bible is so interesting when you explain it that way.
That was a wonderful lecture for our S. S. teachers and scholars.
A man eighty years of age said,
I have attended church and S. S. all my life and this is the best thing I ever heard.
A high school superintendent said,
That was the most informative Bible lecture I ever had the privilege of hearing.
A general response after every lecture is,
Be sure and come again.
