The Purpose of the Club
The members of the Contemporary Club meet for sociability and study in their Club Rooms twice a month to listen to excellent music, to hear a lecture on some literary figure of international celebrity or a critical interpretation of some masterpiece in present day literature. This is followed by a good-natured symposium and discussion of such themes of importance as grow out of the study of these authors and their works.
The lectures are free to the interested public and you are cordially invited to become a regular member of the Club, if you wish to familiarize yourself with the best in contemporaneous literature.
