Figure
JOE R. HANLEY
Mr. Hanley needs no introduction to Service Clubs of Western New York. The demand for his return, after speaking once, is almost universal.
Those desiring his services will do well to make application early

What They Say of His Lectures
You have spoken to the Rotary Club of Buffalo on several occasions. Your addresses have always been constructive. After each occasion our members have expressed their appreciation with increased enthusiasm. There are not many speakers to whom I could say,
Our members will be mighty glad to listen to you any time you can speak to us,
but you are surely one of them. You have helped us to appreciate Rotary more thoroughly.

I have heard Joseph R. Hanley give quite a number of addresses before the various Rotary Clubs in the Twenty Seventh District. He is an eloquent speaker, full of force; all his addresses have been full of Rotary ideas and inspiring to the Rotarians. I consider him the best

speaker that we have had for a number of years.

Mr. Hanley has appeared before the Erie Rotary Club on two occasions during 1927, one at our regular noon meeting and the other at our Ladies' Meeting. His second appearance was in answer to popular demand on part of our members for his return. On both occasions, though his talks were entirely different, Mr. Hanley charmed his hearers, and his pleasing manner and keen sense of humor, served him well to carry through messages of inestimable value. I have personally heard Mr. Hanley deliver six addresses and I am frank to say I have not as yet grown tired of hearing him.

I will never forget the inspiration of the talk you gave on the SS. Carmania while on our way to Ostend. Any man who can give a Decoration Day address such as you did, under the guise of a Sunday morning sermon, and bring tears to the eyes of most of those in his audience, should have the opportunity of talking to as many Rotary clubs as possible, because we do not have the pleasure of listening to many such addresses. Rotary is not an easy subject to discuss and you are one of the few men who have the faculty of putting it over in a captivating way.

Governor Joe made one of the most inspiring talks I have ever listened to on the question of Rotary, and I might go further to say that it is seldom we may have the pleasure of listening to such a discourse. The Governor told us at the outset that it was his swan song as presiding officer of the great 27th district, and no one can deny it was a most fitting climax to a successful administration. Ask anybody who attended.
Batavia Rotary Club
We cannot refrain from writing just briefly regarding our district governor, Joe Hanley, as he is affectionately called by all Rotarians and friends. A man of wonderful powers, dynamic, yet kind and loving; full of vigor—a rapid fire speaker shooting forth one epigram after the other, sometimes in jest, again serious, but always hitting the mark, making his point.
In all our experience, we scarcely have met a man his superior.

Joe radiates Rotary, and expresses his thoughts in a bright and unusual fashion. But it's not what Joe says, so much as the way he says it. For he is the fortunate possessor of a magnetic personality which holds his audience gripped to the last word.
