EMILY WEBB SADLER, VIOLINIST
SEASON OF 1910–11
EMILY WEBB SADLER VIOLINIST
Miss Sadler has been wonderfully successful in her solo work, her playing having attracted the attention of the most worthy and capable critics. She has a highly developed technic, beautiful tone, and absolutely flawless intonation. Besides being exceedingly artistic and scholarly, there is in her playing a style which invariably delights the uncultured listener as well as the best of musical critics. Miss Sadler has been in constant demand for both private and public occasions, her playing always creating greatest enthusiasm.
A FEW TESTIMONIALS
At the first Faculty concert, given last night in University Hall, Miss Emily Sadler presented a group of three numbers in a masterly manner, her execution being most unusual and her work of an exceptionally high quality. Miss Sadler is an artist and her handling of the instrument, her bowing and her temperament were so marked that her success as a soloist and musician was assured from the start.—
Ann Arbor Daily News, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Miss Sadler was the violinist of the evening. She produces a beautiful, clear tone and her shadings and modulations are those of one who has the artistic sense born, not made. Such playing should have the widest possible hearing.—
Detroit Free Press, Detroit, Mich.
Miss Emily Webb Sadler charmed everyone with her beautiful playing. The skill with which she handles the violin is shown in the depth and feeling of her tone and her interpretation is marked with much originality of conception. The audience went wild with delight over her playing and she responded to an insistent applause by playing the Humoresque by Dvorak, which she rendered very beautifully.—
Daily Register, Sandusky, Ohio.
The Romance by Svendsen was beautifully played by Miss Sadler. Her evident sincerity and the really beautiful tone she produces, together with the life and feeling she puts into her playing, make her a most unusual performer.—
Michigan Daily, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Miss Emily Sadler played the difficult Vieuxtemps Ballade et Polonaise brilliantly and with careful attention to tone quolity in which she excels. But what impresses most in her playing is the fact that she has temperament and plays with a depth of feeling and sympathy that is delightful.—
Ann Arbor News, Ann Arbor, Mich.
The musical given last evening was thoroughly enjoyed by a large and highly appreciative audience. Miss Sadler's violin playing set the audience wild with delight. She is an artist of high ability and her interpretation of such composers as Svendsen-Sarasate was a treat to any true lover of music.—
