Shall we civilize our neighbors with our good ways of life, or shall we spoil them with our costly American vices?
Chinman's Chance
is a stirring challenge to Western civilization and our American way of life.
It is packed with delightful humor, wholesome philosophy of life and Oriental secrets of happy living.
A delightful and humorous autobiography of an Oriental who has learned and unlearned our Western culture and civilization.
Recommended by the Bookman Radio Service, New York.
Never, so far as I know, did an autobiography have an apter title than this one. It keynotes the book as one of broad good humor, coming as it does from an Oriental, and therefore lures the reader to a genuinely delightful narrative.
Throughout the volume there are alternate glimpses of the idealist, the humorist and the philosopher. It is packed with incidents, inspiration and sense.—
E. F. Allen in Program Magazine,
New York.
His words often sparkle like jewels.—
Washington Star.
He tells his story with much humor and with many sly digs at Western ways.—
Baltimore Morning Sun.
A book of genuine delight.
—
A. N. Holcombe,
Harvard University.
It is spiced with delightful humor and philosophy.—
Cincinnati Enquirer.
It is filled with flashes of humor and a sprightly style of expression.—

His versions of the trend of history during his lifetime will be especially interesting to those who understand that today the Pacific Ocean is no more than a lake.—
The Bookman Radio Service,
New York.
The common sense, sound philosophy of life and good humor which runs throughout the volume are thoroughly enjoyable.
—
William B. Munro,
California Institute of Technology.
A familiar saying has become the title of one of the best books.—
Argus-Leader,
Sioux Falls.
It certainly gives a philosophy of living which would be wonderful for many more people to follow.
—
Dean Frank M. Debatin,
Washington University.
It is embellished with a quaint, quasi-Mark Twain humor.—
Winnipeg Free Press.

After receiving his European education in China and Japan, Dr. No-Yong Park (Pao) acquired his Western training in Europe and America, especially at Harvard University where he received the degrees of M.A. and Ph.D. While in College he distinguished himself by capturing many oratorical and literary prizes in competition with our American students in their own language. He has made Far Eastern problems his life-study and has visited the Orient frequently to obtain first-hand information on the subject.
With his Oriental background and Occidental training, his gift of expression, keen sense of Mark Twain-like humor and a forceful, dynamic personality, he has become one of the most widely acclaimed Oriental lecturers in America. Year after year he returns to scores of colleges and universities, conventions, lecture forums and women's clubs. He lectured for the University of Minnesota for more than a decade, and the Institutes of International Understanding sponsored by Rotary International for the past five consecutive seasons.
