Finale
Synopsis of Japanese Fete—A Musical Potpouri in one act, arranged by Vera Jane Edwards.
Act I.—Tea garden in Yokohama, Japan. During
The Feast of Cherry Blossoms.
Synopsis
The opening of the act shows the Geisha girls entertaining American tourists who have just arrived on the
Gaelic
steamer, and a guide is showing them different places of interest in the city. This scene is a typical Japanese tea garden in the evening.
Pictures of this production for sale at Teufel's Art Studio, 317 Walnut street, Fort Collins, Colorado.
He who would interpret literature must interpret life—life relieved of the accidents of the commonplace conceived in simplicity, made incarnate through the magic of speech.
follies of 1910
Given under the auspices of the Fort Collins Woman's Club for the purpose of raising funds to furnish the Domestic Science building of the Colorado Agricultural College.
Mrs. Chas. E. Williams, President of the Woman's Club.
Appreciation
So many have contributed toward the success of this production that individual mention is impossible. We appreciate the loyal support which the citizens of Fort Collins have given us—the good that we are thus enabled to do is their reward.—Fort Collins Woman's Club.
STORY OF THE JAPANESE FETE
The
Japanese Fete
is a portrayal of life in the flowery kingdom. The opening of the act will be a typical Japanese tea garden; American tourists have come to be entertained — the dainty little Geisha girls sing, dance, pose for the
foreigners,
as they call us, to the delight of the party. They are celebrating the
Feast of the Cherry Blossoms,
the most glorious Fete day of Japan. There is no dialogue, the musical performance being continuous.
