Mr. and Mrs. John Ross Reed Singers and Entertainers De Luxe
John Ross Reed, baritone, actor and composer, and Dagny Ellen Jensen (Mrs. Reed), Danish soprano, pianist and impersonator, give more real music and entertainment in either a long or short program than an ordinary company of six.
Once you have heard them, their success is easy to understand. Both have unusual voices. They sing everything from the latest popular song hit to grand opera. And they do everything well. You just cannot get enough of their harmony singing.
Mr. Reed is a humorist and story teller par excellence. Mrs. Reed's impersonations are inimitable.
Mr. Reed has had a checkered career, that is, musically speaking. At one time he was an evangelistic singer with the well known Evangelist Biederwulf. He has been featured as a cabaret entertainer. Always a popular concert artist. He has been a headliner in vaudeville and has sung in oratorio and grand opera with success. He is the writer of many published songs and is a Columbia recording artist. His voice is a full, rich baritone. Mr. Reed is a man with a magnificent physique. He still holds the state record for West Virginia for the 220 yard dash.
Dagny Jensen Reed began her musical career at the age of eight. Since then she has studied at various colleges in America and Europe. At one time she was the head of her own company. Mrs. Reed's voice is a lyric soprano of fine quality. She has a remarkable repertoire of old Danish and Scandinavian folk songs, which she does in costume. She has also a number of splendid compositions to her credit. And what a splendid story teller and impersonator.
A Few Comments
CHICAGO, MARCH 7, 1930
The Reeds are so human and friendly they soon have the sympathetic interest of their auditors. That was the case Tuesday evening. Mrs. Reed is clever in her work and her voice is as sweet and pure as a wild bird and she uses it apparently with as much joy. She plays her own accompaniments and with much originality. She also gave a reading in imitation of a child of fanciful mind, and the audience called for more and more.
Mr. Reed's best numbers were Three for Jack, a song of a daring sailor which he sang with rare spirit and meaning, Duna, a fine sentimental love song in which he put wholesome feeling, and Lindy Lou, which he sang with Mrs. Reed to the great enjoyment of the audience. Madam will you walk with me, a duet, was a fitting curtain number.—

I wish to express my appreciation of the very excellent entertainment given by John Ross Reed and Dagny Ellen Jensen at the International Banquet of the Mary Ann Club last Thursday. They won their audience immediately and fitted their program to the idea featured.—Frances F. Gross, President Mary Ann Club.

Our men enjoyed your singing and special novelty numbers very much, indeed, and we want you to reserve Friday noon, December 14th, for a return engagement.—
