PRESENTS HIS LECTURE
New Wealth from Old Sources
FROM THOSE WHO HAVE HEARD FRANK PRESTON JOHNSON
MADE TO ORDER FOR SERVICE CLUBS
Indianapolis
January 26, 1937
— Johnson's address was made to order for service clubs. The applause which followed his talk was as great as any speaker has received here in a long time. Our members were most enthusiastic and many of them came forward to meet him, keeping him in the room for fifteen minutes following the meeting adjournment.
WILBUR T. GRUBER, Assistant Secretary, Indianapolis Rotary Club.
OFFERS REAL SOLUTION
Michigan State Teachers College
January 22, 1937
We were delighted with the address given by Frank Preston Johnson. He offers as good a solution of our industrial and economic troubles as I have ever heard. He speaks forcefully and fluently.
DR. E. C. WARRINER, President Central State Teachers' College, Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
BEST OF THE YEAR
Houston, Texas
April 14, 1936
Johnson's address, in my judgment, was the best program we have had all year. His forecast of the future, backed with factual, concrete information, was convincing and inspiring. He spoke with such enthusiasm and sincerity that he made a profound and lasting impression on our members.
JUDGE SAM T. LEWIS, Chairman of Program Committee, Houston Lions Club.
New Wealth from Old Sources
Miracles Resulting from the New Science—Chemurgy
FRANK PRESTON JOHNSON, free lance newspaperman and student of public affairs presents a remarkable picture of the rebuilding of America through the unified efforts of industry, agriculture and science. His address is indeed inspiring as well as informative.
Mr. Johnson does not deal in generalities. As a news reporter he has visited scores of industrial plants, agricultural colleges and experimental laboratories studying at first hand the forces that are creating new industries and building new markets for what were once waste products. Synthetic motor fuels are being grown on farms in the Middle West; newspapers are growing crops of trees on near-waste lands in the South to provide pulp for the production of paper; other industries have their chemists and research staffs busily engaged in the new hunt. The address is filled with concrete cases of what applied science is doing NOW in preparation of prosperity thru the multiplication of wealth.
Mr. Johnson emphasizes the growing importance of organic chemistry in the life of the world and shows how through the new science CHEMURGY (putting Chemistry to work) new energies are being released which promise to create many things to the infinite benefit and happiness of all.
Committees from all types of organizations testify to the unusual interest in this absorbing subject as Frank Preston Johnson presents it.
Oklahoma City May 12, 1936
Comments are still coming to us of a very complimentary nature regarding the address given by Frank Preston Johnson. He has a fine personality, a splendid speaking voice, but best of all, he presents new information of a most inspiring nature.
ROY CHRISTIAN, Public Relations Director, Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.
Zanesville, Ohio January 12, 1937
It was good of you to include on our Rotary program such an interesting speaker as Frank Preston Johnson. I have been attending Rotary meetings for many years, including meetings of Number One club in Chicago, but I have never listened to a more interesting talk than the one given by Mr. Johnson.
CHELSEA BAILEY, Chairman Program Committee, Rotary Club, Zanesville, Ohio.
WHENEVER INDUSTRIAL CENTRALIZATION CAUSES HARMFUL HUMAN CONGESTION, AND BECOMES DESTRUCTIVE OF THE RIGHT OF SELF-MAINTENANCE, MAN MUST TURN AGAIN TO THE SOIL FROM WHICH ALL NEW WEALTH SPRINGS EXCEPT THAT FROM FISHERIES AND MINES. OTHERWISE THE RIGHT OF SELF-GOVERNMENT CANNOT ENDURE.
—Dearborn Conference—1936
Rio Grande Valley, Texas April 30, 1936
Mr. Johnson's address was the feature of the Federation meeting. It was intensely interesting, informative and delivered in a forceful manner.
MRS. ELLEN KOCH, Secretary of Rio Grande Valley Federation of Women's Clubs.
