Five Different Illustrated Lectures
By
John Claire Monteith LECTURER, NATURALIST, TRAVELER
Out of the West has come a new and unique platform personality. A Lecturer with the gift of word-picturing far places. A fluent speaker who commands instant attention through his direct and forceful approach. A Naturalist who tells an informative story of desert, mountain and Indian country with superb illustrations in natural color.
Monteith, a descendant of five Scottish clans, has also in his ancestry a long line of western pioneers. As a boy he heard the stories of Indian wars and the legends of dramatic pioneer history as passed down from his great-uncle, Dr. Marcus Whitman, who led the first wagon train over the old Oregon Trail more than a hundred years ago.
From a national experience as a concert and oratorio singer, Monteith like his pioneer ancestors, turned again to the West. For many years he spent his leisure in research in Desert and Indian lore. He now brings the result of this research and travel to the lecture platform in a series of colorful and informative presentations, illustrated in color motion film.
Touring from Coast to Coast, Monteith has appeared, with many return engagements, for leading Museums, Universities, Clubs and Lecture Series in all parts of the country.

I Saw America Arming
In his travels, Monteith has seen defense production plants, air plane factories, ship building yards and army camps—from Portland to Pensacola, and from Detroit to San Diego. He tells you what he saw, as much as is allowed—in a human interest and personalized story of the remarkable drama of defense in America.
The World on Wheels — Travel is Big Business
Monteith tells the great dramatic story of Travel in America; one of the amazing stories of the business world of today. Surprising facts and interesting tales for groups using unillustrated lectures of a business trend. Forcefully presented by one of the fluent speakers of the lecture platform. The importance of travel now and after the war!
