Solos and ensembles from modern operas
The lusty measures of beautiful and spirited music—sung by a good male singing group—that is the MARCHING MEN OF SONG. They hold a powerful appeal for audiences everywhere today. The phenomenal popularity of such tuneful operettas as
The Student Prince,
Rose Marie,
Maytime,
and
Blossom Time,
established the tremendous vogue for the male singing Chorus and now the MARCHING MEN OF SONG fill that need.
The MARCHING MEN OF SONG are a male singing group of the very highest type. Rousing student songs are featured and selections from
The Student Prince
form a section of their program. They will also be heard in songs from
My Maryland,
The Three Musketeers,
and other popular light opera. Selections from
Gilbert and Sullivan,
also Grand Opera and oratorio gems are also magnificently sung for you.
The volume which this group attains is extraordinary—yet the very next second they are giving you astonishingly delicate tone shadings that are breath taking.
An artistic concert portion of the program is presented in evening dress. This offers an opportunity to bring to the music students some of the better of the male vocal chorus from standard works.
The MARCHING MEN OF SONG will also give part of their program in
gob
white, singing the saltiest of sea songs and
chanteys.
Also marine numbers from late motion pictures and radio programs.
The singing group present a colorful picture upon the platform with their smart military coats, shining boots and swagger student caps, decked with their student corps color bands.

PHIL CLARK
Tenor-Director
The
genial gentleman of the South
is just that—Born in the Lone Star State of Texas where at an early age he went on the concert stage, and seventeen found him making a coast to coast tour as a soloist. It was not however until his home state called him back to sing at the Dallas Texas Centennial that he gained his popularity. Mr. Clark is not only a soloist and singer of songs, but an entertainer and dancer as well—he likes to mix good humor and lively rhythm with his serious numbers, thus bringing you a well rounded program. Phil's costumed dance numbers are high spots in this program.
