ARTIST - ENTERTAINERS
REDPATH
Cello Ensemble and Little Symphony
THE feature of this five-artist company is a cello quartet. Such a quartet is rarely presented either in this country or in Europe because of the difficulty of securing four cello artists in one group—for the cello, while exquisitely beautiful in its tonal effects, is most difficult of mastery, and those genuinely proficient in its art are always eagerly sought for.
For the purpose of organizing this company, the Redpath Bureau secured the services of Franz Wagner, a cellist known to musicians the country over through his concert and orchestra appearances. He is also a famous builder of cellos. Mr. Wagner not only selected the artists who compose the company, but he chose the cello selections which they render.
These cello selections—quartets, trios, duos and solos, with or without piano accompaniment—are all of a classic or semi-classic character; offerings whose rare beauty is interpreted by the artists to the great delight both of those who are deeply versed in things musical and of those, who are not so musically inclined.
In one part of its program the company becomes a Little Symphony Orchestra, employing two violins, two cellos and piano. The Little Symphony renders beautiful music of the highest type and never fails to score not only a distinctly artistic, but at the same time, a decidedly popular success.
Vocal solos are a pleasing program feature.
In this company we have artists of high attainments, interpreting the best in music and thoroughly delighting all who hear them.
