FORUM LYCEUM BUREAU
185 MADISON AVE. NEW YORK
WESLEY A. HUNSBERGER
THE widely known lecturer, Dr. Hunsberger, formerly of Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa., but now of The International Peace Forum, of New York City, is by birth and education from the Middle West, where he is widely known as an eminent preacher, orator, lecturer and rarely gifted entertainer. He is a man of impressive personality, splendid physique, cultured intellect, engaging manners and of fluent and scholarly address. His lectures are at once instructive and entertaining. His rich fund of wit, information and overflowing good humor make him a general favorite wherever he goes. In his descriptive lectures he has the rare faculty of carrying his auditors with him, so that they see in vivid fashion what he has seen in travel. To hear him once is to desire to hear him again and again. No course of lectures or entertainments should be regarded as complete without him.

TESTIMONIALS OF RECENT DATES
MIDLAND CHAUTAQUA CIRCUIT (Des Moines, Iowa).
DEAR DR. HUNSBERGER:
I write you this personal letter as to the success of your lectures on our circuit last July. I have not heard of a single place where you did not receive the highest commendations. I am sure that the lectures were far-reaching and created healthy sentiment in every community where you appeared.
If this is a sample of your lectures, you no doubt will not want for a place to speak on the Chautauqua platform during the coming years.
The talent and representatives who met you spoke of your work and personality in the highest terms. I should be glad to recommend you to any inquiring committees.
Yours cordially,
S. M. HOLLADAY. Owner and Manager.
MIFFLINBURG (PA.) CHAUTAUQUA
The Passing of War, by Dr. W. A. Hunsberger, is a lecture that ought to be heard on every Lyceum and Chautauqua platform. I make no exceptions. There is no theme on which the people of America are more in need of education. And there is no theme which could more affect the destiny of the future. Though for long years a student of the subject, yet I was filled and thrilled with Dr. Hunsberger's presentation. He has the facts and knows how to tell them. He is a lecturer. He knows the art of exposition and elucidation. More than that, he is an orator. It is an oratorical product which he delivers. It is an oration clothed in eloquent and stirring language, enriched by deep heart experiences and the tenderest sympathies for humanity and embellished with all the polish and ornaments of true literary art. Whoever promotes his lectures is promoting the cause of peace—the cause of humanity.
LEE FRANCIS LYBARGER, Attorney-at-Law, Author, Lyceum and Chautauqua Lecturer.
MUSCATINE (IOWA) CHAUTAUQUA
Dr. W. A. Hunsberger gave two inspiring addresses before the Muscatine Chautauqua Assembly yesterday, and covered himself with glory on each occasion. He is a man with a message and with the gift of impressing his message upon the minds and hearts of his hearers. His rapid-fire delivery, his keen sense of humor, his faultless diction and rhetoric, and his sterling manhood shining out from a thought illumined countenance, all combine to make him an orator of unusual power and effectiveness. Muscatine will be glad to hear him again.
PAUL F. VOELKER, Platform Manager. Secy. Lecture Dept., Extension Div., Prof. University of Wisconsin.
ROCKVILLE (IND.) CHAUTAUQUA
Dr. W. A. Hunsberger, Executive Vice-President of the International Peace Forum, delivered his great lecture, The Passing of War, before an immense audience at our Chautauqua this year. He has a winning personality. His lecture combines much of humor and pathos. He is doing a wonderful work for the disarmament of the nations. Every Chautauqua should have him on its program for educational features. The doctor is a good mixer, and this makes him very popular with Chautauqua audiences. He has wonderful descriptive powers and a faculty for interesting all. We cannot recommend him too highly.

WILMINGTON (OHIO) CHAUTAUQUA
DEAR DR. HUNSBERGER:
Your addresses here were very satisfactory. The message you brought, both in The Passing of War and The Men and Women Demanded by the Times, were of uplift and instruction. I hope you may be enabled to reach the great mass of our people through the Chautauquas. I heartily recommend you to all of them.
F. M. CLEVENGER, Attorney-at-Law and Director of the Chautauqua.
CLINTON (ILLINOIS) CHAUTAUQUA
Dr. Hunsberger preached a strong sermon Sunday morning, and a large crowd greeted him again this afternoon, knowing they would receive a most intelligent treat; and they did, for in his International Peace address, The Passing of War, he fully demonstrated the folly and absurdness of war as a means of settling disputes between great nations. Dr. Hunsberger is certainly doing a great work in the cause of International Peace. His lecture was one of the strongest of the Assembly.—
Clinton Daily Journal.
FAIRFIELD (IOWA) CHAUTAUQUA
Dr. Hunsberger's address on International Peace was one of the successes of the Fairfield Chautauqua. His address was characterized by mental alertness, readiness and clearness of statement, strong reasoning and the charm of eloquence.
(Hon.) C. J. FULTON, Pres. of Chautauqua.
BANGOR (PA.) CHAUTAUQUA
Dr. W. A. Hunsberger delivered a magnificent lecture on The Passing of War, last evening. It was declared to be the greatest lecture ever heard in Bangor on International Peace. He closed his lecture very effectively by drawing two word pictures. In the first, he pictured the great soldiers of the world styled, The Conquerors, and then drew a picture of the great men of Peace in the world's history, described by him as the real conquerors, the real heroes and patriots of the centuries. The pictures were drawn as with the practised and unwavering hand of a skilled artist, and were really literary masterpieces.—

MY DEAR DR. HUNSBERGER:
I am delighted with the reports which I have received of your success on the Chautauqua platform, and especially so as the message which you carry is one of progress and universal service.
The great subjects of the enfranchisement of women, and universal peace, are the foremost problems of our time, and it is very gratifying to me that one of my old college classmates, who has attained such popularity on the lecture platform, is devoting his time to problems of such vital importance to national progress. I hope that your lectures upon these subjects, and particularly upon the enfranchisement of woman, may be heard on all the Chautauqua platforms of the country.
Very truly yours,
ANNA H. SHAW, Prest.

DR. HUNSBERGER,
Dear Sir:
Our Chautauqua is closed and permit me to congratulate you. Your address on Sunday was very fine, but the one given on Monday, on The Passing of War, in my judgment, surpassed any effort made during the ten days of the Assembly. Your reasoning was fine, your logic excellent, and your rhetoric perfect. Hope that you may return again next year.

Racine (Wis.) Chautauqua
DR. HUNSBERGER,
Dear Sir:
Your address before the Racine Chautauqua on The Passing of War was very highly appreciated and of great benefit to our people. The eloquence and power of the address places it among the very best productions we have had on these grounds, and its influence will last through many years.
I am looking forward to a time when it will be possible for us to have you with us again.

There is no subject before the world to-day of greater importance than that of International Peace. The wonder is that we have been so slow in awakening to the greatness of the movement. America ought to lead in this matter. I am very glad that my long-time friend, Dr. Hunsberger, is so vitally connected with this movement for Peace. He is the right man in the right place. A man with both heart and brain fitted for this great work. It was my great pleasure to listen to his splendid address given at Winona Lake Assembly this summer. His plea for the cause was most eloquent, and made a profound impression upon all our minds. He is both instructive and entertaining to a very high degree. I sincerely wish every citizen of the United States might hear his address. I am sure those who have heard him, feel as I do.

MUSCATINE (IOWA) CHAUTAUQUA Dr. W. ROCKVILLE (IND.) CHAUTAUQUA Dr. W. C. E. LAMBERT, Secretary, Chautauqua Association, Inc. THE SHAW CHAUTAUQUA CIRCUIT, OHIO, INDIANA AND ILLINOIS. Dr. W. A. Hunsberger lectured on The Passing of War at a number of my Chautauquas during the past summer and greatly pleased. The Doctor has a taking personality, a rich fund of humor and strikes fire. He is a success. JAMES H. SHAW. Chautauqua Circuit Superintendent. 1st year, Have been with him 3 years since WILMINGTON (OHIO) CHAUTAUQUA DEAR DR. HUNSBERGER: Your addresses here were very satisfactory. CLINTON (ILLINOIS) CHAUTAUQUA Dr. His lecture was one of the strongest of the Assembly.— Clinton Daily Journal. FAIRFIELD (IOWA) CHAUTAUQUA Dr. BANGOR (PA.) CHAUTAUQUA Dr. W. The pictures were drawn as with the practised and unwavering hand of a skilled artist, and were really literary masterpieces.— Bangor Press. NATIONAL AMERICAN WOMAN SUFFRAGE ASSOCIATION, 503 Fifth Avenue, New York MY DEAR DR. HUNSBERGER: I am delighted with the reports which I have received of your success on the Chautauqua platform, and especially so as the message which you carry is one of progress and universal service. Very truly yours, ANNA H. SHAW, Prest. ROCKVILLE (IND.) CHAUTAUQUA. Dr. W. A. Hunsberger's address at the Chautauqua on The Passing of War, was a masterpiece in argument against militarism.— Rockville Tribune (Ind.). The World's Wonderland 'The World's Wonderland' was one of the very best lectures of our course.— Reading Press. The World's Wonderland, Yellowstone Park Dr. Hunsberger has a marvelous memory of scenes, and describes them with clearness and rapid touch of finish. It must be heard to be truly appreciated.— Red Oak Daily. TESTIMONIALS Lincoln Park Chautauqua Assembly, Kansas. One of the greatest speakers in the world on the subject of International Peace. MANAGERS CHAUTAUQUA. Ottawa (Kans.) Chautauqua DR. HUNSBERGER, Dear Sir: Our Chautauqua is closed and permit me to congratulate you. Your address on Sunday was very fine, but the one given on Monday, on The Passing of War, in my judgment, surpassed any effort made during the ten days of the Assembly. Your reasoning was fine, your logic excellent, and your rhetoric perfect. Hope that you may return again next year. J. M. MCWHARF, M.D., Pres't Kansas Academy of Science. Racine (Wis.) Chautauqua DR. HUNSBERGER, Dear Sir: Your address before the Racine Chautauqua on The Passing of War was very highly appreciated and of great benefit to our people. The eloquence and power of the address places it among the very best productions we have had on these grounds, and its influence will last through many years. I am looking forward to a time when it will be possible for us to have you with us again. (Prof.) BURTON E. NELSON, Sup't. Schools, Manager of the Chautauqua. Winona Lake Assembly Indiana There is no subject before the world to-day of greater importance than that of International Peace. (Rev. Dr.) W. O. CARRIER, Pres't Carroll College, Waukesha, Wis.
