MALE QUARTET (a good one) is one of the few numbers that can be offered every year with assurance that they will please your patrons. A quartet is not expected to do very good work until it has been working together as such for two or more years. The Euphoniums had been working together under a competent coach for two years before they attempted course work. Last season they filled over a hundred engagements through the southwest and west and their work was so well received that we have engaged them for a full season, and will this year bring them east.
The company is composed of young men of splendid appearance and fine character. They have fine voices and their team work is excellent, showing splendid toning and shading. They are at perfect ease on the platform and each member adds his special part to the humorous side of the program. One of the boys is a talented comedian; one is a splendid reader; another a fine accompanist; and the fourth adds novelty to the program with a violin number.
The Euphoniums are a good quartet today and will very soon rival the oldest and best known quartets for first place in the hearts of the lyceum public.
Personal and Press Comment
Parker Message
—The concert by the Euphonium Glee Club was such as to merit the highest praise from all who were fortunate enough to hear them. Without exception these gentlemen possess voices of rare merit and their rendition of the different numbers showed much training and culture. An especially pleasant feature of their entertainment was the violin solo by Mr. Funk. Mr. Miehe's readings were an agreeable diversion from the usual musical program and were well received by the audience. Mr. Miehe possesses much ability as a reader and impersonator as well as a tenor and soloist. In fact every number on the program was a good one and encore after encore was the order of the evening. In addition to their ability as entertainers these gentlemen are especially pleasant fellows from a personal standpoint.
Hugh Johnston, Secretary Y. M. C. A., Braman, Okla.

Your letter concerning the Euphonium Quartet received. In reply will say, it was a success. We are very much pleased, individually and collectively.
Ponce City Daily Courier
—We hear only words of praise from those present at the Euphonium Glee Club concert last evening. Mr. Edgar Miehe as reader and Mr. Dan Funk as violin soloist, are particularly strong features of the company, though each and every member is an artist in his way.
Ogallala (Neb.) Republican Argus
—These young men have fine voices, well cultivated, which, in addition to their pleasing personality, and varied repertoire, made the concert one of exceeding pleasure to the audience. Ten numbers were embraced in the program, and every number was enthusiastically encored, to which the young gentlemen very gracefully responded. Should they ever appear in Ogallala again they may be sure of a warm welcome.
Kearney Daily Hub
—The Euphoniums are certainly as good an organization of the kind as has been heard here for a long time.
Mankato (Kan.) Advocate
—Every number was vigorously encored, a second return being frequently demanded. Mr. Funk's violin solos were very pleasing, and the entire work of the quartet was well received.
Wray (Colo.) Rattler
—The entertainment was good throughout; the violin music of Mr. Funk being worthy of special mention. Mr. Funk is an artist in that line and his numbers were heartily encored. All who attended expressed themselves as being well pleased with the entertainment and hope they may find it convenient to visit our city again.
H. M. Gilmore, Secretary Y. M. C. A., Denison, Kan.
—
The Euphonium Glee Club played here last night to a crowded house, and every number was heartily received and appreciated. All the members of the quartet are possessed of excellent voices, and are thoroughly acquainted with their various parts. They certainly would receive a splendid hearing if they return.
Chilocco (O. T.) Weekly Journal
—Almost every number was heartily encored. Mr. Carr, soloist, was especially pleasing. Mr. Miehe, reader, greatly amused us by his German dialect story. Their selections were enjoyed every minute, and they would have been kept until midnight had they been able to stand the strain.
Manhattan (Kan.) Nationalist
—Each member of the Euphonium Quartet is a good singer and their entertainment proved very satisfactory to all concerned.
Crete (Neb.) Vidette-Herald
—Numerous encores were received, two being double encores. The dash and spirit with which each number was rendered is evidence of excellent training. The program rendered was bright and spicy, showing good selection and management.

—The audience was very enthusiastic and every number was encored, and some of them twice.
The Rose of Sharon
was especially fine in rendition, as was also the violin work of Mr. Funk. Their selections show good taste as well as thorough training and natural ability. Should the boys ever come to Hastings again they will be given a rousing reception.
