Descriptive Personal Analysis
These Analyses Are a Descriptive Unveiling of One's Own Psychology, Personality and Character
By DEWITT B. LUCAS
P. O. Box 166, Birmingham, MICHIGAN
Her natural, spontaneous writing, with firm pen pressure and active, decisive movement, is her best reference for honesty and truthfulness, particularly in view of her ideality in the long loops above the line, and her resolution in even, rather intense pressure, and the sharp angular script which shows that the negative side of her nature is well developed, thus making for self control, and good self direction. She is always awake, mentally alert, has a questing imagination that makes her curious and as there is determination with initiative, she will generally find out what she wants to know. She has been well endowed, and her writing reflects fine organic quality and brain structure with unusually keen, accurate, penetrating and well balanced perception. This is shown in the clearness of ideas, revealed in clear spacing of words and lines—the best foundation upon which a high order of intelligence can rest. Her solidly written words indicate the ability to reason and plan, to think consecutively and sequentially, to organize and to construct. It is the practical side of her nature and of her perception. Her broken apart words, show the amount of intuition, which is very strongly marked, even for a woman, and this is her theoretical and impressionable side. At times her intuition overlaps into a pure clairvoyant insight, and she knows without knowing how she knows. She is an excellent judge of people, character and personality and is seldom wrong in her estimate of others. Her mentality is exceptionally well balanced. She is not easily fooled. Her rapid writing and her high t-crosses and dash-dots to her i's which are also placed high and in front of the letter, all clearly confirm the imagination in her rapid, sharp, penetrating script. But her imagination would be a useful tool. It would open up ways and means that would never be dreamed of by those less gifted than herself. She is a leader—a natural leader, one who will blaze the trail for others to follow, and is a natural teacher because she is a store-house of knowledge and experience which she accumulates readily, and passes along generously to others. She is entirely free from meanness, artificiality, false pride, pretention, vulgarity, deceit, dissimulation, etc. A person of wonderful courage and with intelligent initiative. Active and industrious. Always busy with some useful work or study. Ambitious, wants to get ahead, and is willing to work hard to achieve her objectives. Unusually honest, truthful, faithful and loyal. The slant, speed and pressure indicate the degree of intensity and sensitiveness—all three of which are strongly emphasized in her case. She feels things with unusual force and conviction. Takes strong personal attitudes on matters for and against—but she is not stubborn or obstinate. She is very firm however, particularly whenever her experiences, conscience and judgment meet in approval. She never fails to dot her i's nor cross her t's nor to put in punctuation marks carefully no matter how rapidly her imagination generates ideas. This shows her to be exceptionally conscientious, observant, attentive to detail and reliable. Her natural writing without flourish or embellishment, decoration, etc., shows her to be a woman of good tastes, and natural refinement. She has excellent judgment in household and other matters, is economical without being penurious. Believes in having plenty and in enjoying life, but will never abuse Life's privileges nor its obligations. She is a good talker, quick-witted, skillful and unexpected in the verbal thrust and parry of repartee, has a keen sense of humor, and is clean and wholesome in every respect. A little impatient with herself, due to her imagination, sensitiveness, ambition and ardor. More impatient with herself than she is with others. But she will never slight thoroughness for speed, as she is both speedy and thorough. Will suffer from nervous troubles and from fevers, or be liable to do so. Has excellent health, strong vitality, and is original, clever, versatile and resourceful. There is practically nothing she cannot make a success of if she turns to it with interest. The things she likes she will welcome and cultivate assiduously. The things that she does not like, she will have nothing whatsoever to do with. As previously stated—she will show very strong personal likes and dislikes, attractions and repulsions and will be guided through life, largely by her intuitions, backed up by a sober reasoning upon her impressions. Music will appeal to her deeply, and also things pathetic, heroic, etc. She knows instinctively which is the real and which is the false. Her writing gives her credit for an unusually clean bill of mental and moral health.
This analysis is exceptionally thorough. The characteristics described could not have been given better had Mr. Lucas known me personally.—C. W. H.
A Commercial Analysis
How Handwriting Analysis Becomes the Scientific Reliance of Modern Business Men.
By DeWITT B. LUCAS
P. O. Box 166, Birmingham, MICHIGAN
To what extent is scientific handwriting analysis being utilized by business men in accurately sizing up prospective employees, associates or correspondents? This is something which every executive seeking insurance on the character, ability and integrity of his working personnel, wants to know about. It is not altogether satisfactory to refer to a long list of high class institutions that have made use of handwriting analysis in business for years. He wants concrete examples of the nature of the Graphological judgment when applied to individuals seeking a place on his pay-roll.
The following Commercial Analysis, made by Mr. Lucas for a commercial client, upon the script of an applicant for an important position of trust, is an excellent concrete example illustrating the kind of reports that are furnished by a capable and experienced Graphologist. It is reproduced exactly as it went to the client. It tells its own story.
He is primarily a man of fine intelligence having good organic quality and brain structure. A logical, reasoning, planning (and somewhat cunning) mind. Secretive and suspicious of others, always seeking an advantage or striving to place others under unasked obligations to him so that he can profit greatly in excess thereof. His mind operates in somewhat dark and devious ways without being bold or open in his predatory instinct. He is cautious, watchful, guarded, noncommittal and never uncovers his hand until the denouement has arrived. He has some intuition to help him in sizing up others or in sensing a condition. He is clever enough to avoid embarrassing situations. He is a hard man to corner because he will tell you that he never said so-and-so,—that if he did he never meant it, or that you have misunderstood him, or that he did not make himself clear, etc. etc. He is tricky and treacherous in those more important decisions of life where by bending a little from the straight and narrow course he could gain a financial advantage. He knows how to work upon the sympathies of those who are generous. He is a very jealous type, due to sex desire, intensity, imagination and selfishness. He could make life a perfect hell for anyone who was weaker than he and tied up to him permanently. There is a good deal of violence and viciousness of temper when aroused with an occasional flash of homicidal impulse. Withal, he is rather cowardly, seldom takes any chances, and there is a good deal of furtiveness in his stencil strokes above the line, a fear of being found out or discovered that argues some accusation of conscience. I believe that he has weakened his physical, mental and moral selves through some form of vicious dissipation. He is vain, smug, slick, clever, versatile and resourceful. Don't lend him any money unless you have gilt edge security for it. Can make a most favorable impression upon others. Seasoned enough to be dangerous.

Read these voluntary nuggets of approval quoted from the letters of those who have been helped by Mr. Lucas.
We are all marveling at the results of your analysis of handwriting, and, altho I have had a fifty cent one, I am so interested that I now want a dollar report. L. G. B.
I have always enjoyed the accuracy of your analyses, in the past. E. H.
Wish to tell you your analyses are always correct. Mrs. F. E.
I am intensely interested in what you have found for me in other letters that I have sent to you, being so true and authentic. Many times you uncover an unsuspected trait that thru long or close association, one has not recognized. Mrs. H. R. Y.
I'd like to mention that two years ago I received one of your analysis which was very satisfactory. Miss M. F. S.
I do hope you won't mind that I seem to have adopted you as a big brother and feel so free to ask your candid advice. Miss K.B.S
The last analysis you sent me was perfect and amused me. You may see that I am fearless so please don't spare me. The truth and only the truth, if you please. G. B. B.
Your generous painstaking analyses have aided me immeasurably. Miss M. M.
I have received such successful character sketches from you in the past that I should like to repeat myself and send you yet another bit of script to analyse. Miss K. S.
We have received from time to time various analyses of handwriting from you. They have been remarkable, and have helped us at times in placing the men in various positions. F.J.Z.
You have analyzed the writing of both my daughters quite correctly and it has interested me. Mrs. H. R. A.
I have just read an analysis which you have made for one of my friends. Having been together with him for many, many years I know his personal character very well. However, your short analysis contained such surprising facts about him that I became interested in your work and would like to see if also you could tell me something about my own. K.Y.V.
I found your criticism most helpful in my very first analysis and I have profited by it. Mrs. J. M. B.
Your recent analysis of the handwriting of a friend of mine was perfect. I am enclosing two more specimens for analysis. M. S. B.
Analysis of handwriting is intensely interesting to me. I congratulate you on your keen analysis of the several specimens I have sent you. P. M. G.
A short time ago I got into an argument with some people here who said you could not read a person's character from a disguised hand writing, and to prove that you could do it I sent you a letter and signed the name of Roy Fish the husband of my niece where I am spending the summer. They were convinced that I was right. I am writing you this explanation so you will understand. E.W.F.

Handwriting Analysis is Chararter Insurance. ARE YOU INSURED?
I appreciate fully the time and deep study you have given to this science. It makes me feel very humble and grateful, and gives me a feeling of pride to receive even a portion of your time.
—S. C. B.
I wish to take this opportunity to state that I have had several Analyses from you in the last few years and they have been remarkably correct. B. S.
I have been very grateful to you in the past for the accurate reports on the specimens of handwriting I've sent you.—Miss A. B.
You sure 'rung the bell' on this one. You wrote me in a later letter 'Watch him if he gets prosperous'—but I have not waited that long. I had to attach the can after three month's trial and should have done so sooner. On the surface it looks like several hundred in the red from the experience.—C. W. K.
As you know, we have in our family been greatly interested in your really remarkable readings during the past number of years and I am now desirous of introducing to you two more of my friends.—C. C. D.
Thank you for the analysis of the handwriting sent you last week. It is most interesting and to me, quite wonderful that you should be able to portray character and ability to such a marked extent. In future, I will send more than one specimen.—E. J. S.
Your analysis of Mr. ******'s handwriting was only too true. Until last year, seemed to be all right, but his desires have been too much for him, so he is certainly going the wrong road.—Mrs. A. L. H.
As one of the men who gave me a kind word of advice, and whose constructive criticism was the needed stimulus I required to arouse the latent qualities which I, in common with all other men possess, you will be pleased to hear that I am just completing my first year's study of medicine.—F. C.
I only wish I had known you many years ago as I would have saved myself a lot of trouble. I had some men associated with me in business I never would have considered if I had known about your analysis. They have, since the first one in 1921—helped me very much. I like them because you tell me my weak points as well as my strong ones.—E. W. F.
The recent analyses which you made for me were very satisfactory. Have recommended you to a great many friends.—Miss H. M.
My dear Mr. Lucas: Your past analyses have been more than satisfactory both to me and to my friends. I have reason to believe that had I heeded the suggestions in your first report much general unpleasantness might have been spared us. Thank you for your good work in the past.—A. DeC.
Mrs. * * * wishes to thank you for the analyses you have sent her. They have been true in every particular and very helpful.—Mrs. J. G.
You were so skillful in reading my handwriting a few years ago that I am sending you five samples for the one dollar analysis each.—Miss A. C. W.
We have pleasure in advising you that your analysis No. 43420 is extremely correct and the same has been of real value to us.—J. W.
Have your Character and Personality Analyzed. Know your weak points. Utilize your strong qualities. Develop latent abilities. Know the character of your friends and acquaintances. Make the most out of your life and opportunities.
