FRESNO FORUM**—A most unique combination of song, story and picture … Monteith is a ready speaker, with a fine sense of humor, and his discussion of the desert's unusual formations, gorgeous flowers and characteristic animals was illuminating…
…Monteith has a rich baritone, full voiced, resonant and well schooled … ALL IN ALL, IT WAS THE BEST PROGRAM OF ITS KIND THAT THIS REVIEWER HAS EVER WITNESSED.

UNIV. OF WASH.—
The eerie mystery of the desert at nightfall, its exotic brilliancy in the relentless sunlight, the pastel loveliness at dawn, the great stunning grandeur of it all was brought to the University by John Claire Monteith last night.
Monteith had as his tools a splendid speaking voice, well organized information on his subject, a collection of incredibly beautiful slides, a genial personality, a pleasing baritone voice with which to sing, and a great love for the western part of the United States.—
SEATTLE TIMES.
NEW YORK—One of our most outstanding Lectures … The exquisite shading and coloring of his pictures, with his delightful songs, and a surprising touch of humor, gave an evening which was most unique.

From the story of the botanist explorers sent out from England a century ago to gather rare plants from the far western coast … down to the present day … he weaves the romantic history of the Wild Flowers of the West. A delightful and informative story.

SAN FRANCISCO—I came away from CHILDREN OF THE SUN feeling that a friend, who knew well his Desert Indian lore, had taken me on a personally conducted tour of the Southwest.
The colored slides are most beautiful. The songs of Pueblo and Mesa are sung with understanding, and the concert songs with true artistry. Monteith has chosen an interesting subject, which he presents in such a simple, direct way that he holds the attention of his audience every moment. This story should be heard in every state in the Union.

Movies in the Making
Because of his long residence in Hollywood,—and the many questions on the movies asked on his tours, Monteith has arranged this new lecture in response to popular interest. A good share of his time the last two summers in Hollywood, has been spent in the studios gathering material. Not a Motion Picture, but illustrated for lecture purposes.
