The Redpath Lyceum Bureau presents
The Montague LIGHT OPERA Singers
THE MONTAGUE LIGHT OPERA SINGERS
SELECTIONS from familiar and popular light operas, given in costume, are featured by the Montague Singers. The company is one of the long-time standard attractions of the Redpath list and has a record that fully justifies the enthusiastic reports which constantly are pouring into bureau headquarters.
The Montagues are prepared to give scenes from such favorite operas as The Serenade by Victor Herbert, Robin Hood by Reginald De Koven, and The Pied Piper; selected numbers from The Mikado, Madam Butterfly and The Red Mill, and two complete operettas, A Japanese Romance and The Quaker Romance. An extensive wardrobe of costumes is carried for these numbers.
Solos, duets and quartets from the best song literature are used incidentally throughout the Montague program. Another popular feature is the individual dramatic work of Miss Altha Montague, who offers either a scene from such a standard production as Barrie's Quality Street, or a group of shorter numbers. New program features are being developed constantly by the Montagues, and a careful record of all engagements is kept so that the organization has become one of the most satisfactory return date companies in the entire field of entertainment.
THE PRESS SPEAKS
East, west, north and south join in proclaiming the Montague Singers par excellent.
Albuquerque (N. Mex.) Morning Journal:
Sheer Joy of living and of singing radiated from the four artists who presented sprightly segments from light operas—most of them favorites of yesteryear—at the high school auditorium last night. The Montague Light Opera Singers may well be classified as actors who can sing.
Carbondale (Pa.) Leader:
One of the most gifted quartets ever in this city. Their exceptionally clever vocal and dramatic ability stamp them as artists. The brilliance of each singer was so radiant that the approval of the audience was unanimous for every number.
Clay Center (Kas.) Dispatch-Republican:
The Montague Singers gave a really great concert. There was a metropolitan touch to their work which put their audience on the qui vive.
Grand Junction (Colo.) Daily Sentinel:
The Montague Singers have been in this city several times previously—often enough to win many friends thru their artistic ability and cordiality.
Athens (Ohio) Green and White, (Ohio University Paper):
Without doubt the most accomplished and best organized mixed quartet that has ever appeared here. Their voices and acting were remarkable, and they pleased everyone.
Imperial (Calif.) Daily Leader:
Real artists with a program always of superior quality. Imperial learned that when they were here before. Because we knew their voices and acting to be superior we had them return,—and next year we are to have them again.
El Paso (Tex.) Herald:
Not since David Bispham sang 'Danny Deever' and Maud Powell played the 'Humoresque' on her magic violin have our music lovers had such a treat as the Montague Singers offered.

JOHN EICHENBERGER, tenor and manager, was the original manager-tenor of the Kellogg-Haines Singing Party, with which company he was identified for ten years. Previous to his entering Redpath management, he was a church tenor in St. Louis. He has also had operatic and stage experience, and was the organizer of the Montague Company.
One of the pronounced hits of the evening was made by Mr. Eichenberger in his character songs. He gave a clever impersonation—one that was marked by excellent singing, in a clear, spontaneous tenor voice. —

ELSIE FAIRCHILD, dramatic soprano and accompanist, was prima donna for several seasons with the Celli Grand Opera Singers on the Orpheum circuit in the west. She appeared with The Chimes of Normandy company on extensive chautauqua tours, and later sang a leading part in the comic opera Pinafore. In Chicago Miss Fairchild has filled frequent engagements as soloist in leading picture houses. It is in comedy roles, however, that her work is especially effective, because of her great vivacity and keen sense of humor.

EDWARD RICHARDSON, baritone and accompanist, formerly played leading baritone roles with the Bishop Opera Company of Oakland, California. He starred in The Bohemian Girl, The Mikado, The Mascot and other standard light operas. One season was devoted by Mr. Richardson to a chautauqua tour with the Harry Davies Light Opera Company.
This young baritone has a wonderful voice and shows marked appreciation of the acting possibilities of his roles. —

ALTHA MONTAGUE, contralto and reader, specialized in public speaking and English in the University of Chicago. While in Chicago she was contralto soloist at the Hyde Park Baptist Church and at the First Congregational Church of Evanston. After graduating from the University she entered the Kellogg-Haines Singing Party, with which company she sang for five years.
Miss Montague gave an intelligent portrayal of a reading from Barrie's 'Quality Street' and in this proved to be as charming a reader as she was a singer. As an encore she gave a humorous reading which was well received. —
