LEE KEEDICK presents
TARBELL
Figure
Eyeless Vision
HARLAN TARBELL WORLD FAMOUS MYSTERY SCIENTIST
Figure
Counsellor and teacher of magicians of many nations.
Author and illustrator of the Tarbell Course in Magic — an encyclopedia of magic — a gigantic educational system for the conjuror.
Creator of over 200 magical mysteries, many of which are world famous.
Collaborator with Daniels and Rolle in the Metaphor System of Colors, Numbers, and Languages as applied to Life Analysis and Synthesis. (Over 60 Classifications in Science, U. S. A.)
Has been awarded six educational degrees.
Has the background of the metaphysician — doctor — scientist — psychologist — philosopher —mystic—magician—author—and artist.
A MASTER OF IMPOSSIBILITIES
Dr. Tarbell is a genius in creating, solving and demonstrating mysteries. The things you know cannot be done — Dr. Tarbell does. He has made mystery not only an art but a science. He puzzles the magician as well as the layman. At an early age, Dr. Tarbell realized the strange power that mystery held over man and how it shaped his destiny. He saw how legends lived when facts died and how illusion too often looked more like truth than truth itself. So he began to study magic and mystery the world over as practiced by the Witch Doctors of the Jungles, the Gulli-Gulli Wonder Workers of Egypt, the Magicians of the Orient and Occident, the Priests of the Pagan Temples, together with the Mysteries of Truth brought forth by the great Magi — the Wise Men of the Inner Brotherhoods.
From his uncanny knowledge of these things he has developed programs that are the outstanding sensations of the American platform today.
Dr. Tarbell's skill in creating mystery, his pleasing personality, his individualistic sense of humor and his ease of speaking, place him in a class by himself. Every kind of audience enjoys Dr. Tarbell. He is a supreme entertainer.
A radio in George Washington's time would have been no more mysterious than Eyeless Vision is today.—
Amelia Earhart
A program of continuous astonishment. Dr. Tarbell begins where the magician leaves off. King Tut's tomb was never sealed tighter than Tarbell's eyes.—
Opie Read
A most startling and amazing performance. Never in my theatrical career have I ever seen anything like it.—
Daniel Frohman
I was like a child in Dr. Tarbell's hands. His 'Seeing Fingers' make me doubt the reliability of my five senses.
—Newton D. Baker
EYELESS VISION
Figure
Baffled those with the least will to believe.—
Louis Sherwin New York Evening Post
Is it possible to see without eyes?
Has man another vision that compensates for the orbs of sight and even sees what eyes cannot?
Years ago Dr. Tarbell began a series of experiments which brought to light interesting discoveries, so unbelievable, as to amaze the keenest minds of the nation.
With his eyes securely sealed with layers of adhesive tape and then heavily blindfolded, Dr. Tarbell not only recognizes instantly the shapes, colors and textures of various objects but he can describe them in detail. He actually reads newspapers, magazines, cards or letters usually with the reading side turned away from him. He merely passes his fingertips within a few inches of the printed page. He gets uncanny and sees things that others cannot see with their eyes wide open. He may suddenly call a stranger by name, tell him his business and the kind of car he drives or some intimate thing equally astounding.
Here is a mental attainment that has immensely interested doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and eye specialists the country over. Dr. Tarbell has appeared before the American Academy of Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons, the Indiana State Medical Association and Medical groups from coast to coast.
His is not a so-called Mind Reading act. He has no assistants. Eyeless Vision is new—different—individual. It is so bewildering that as J. J. Shubert says, You must see it in order to believe it.
MYSTERIES OF THE EAST
Strange are the tales of mystery that have come out of the East — the sorcery of the Pagan Temples, the magic of the Chinese Conjurors and the enchantments of the Japanese Wonder Workers. Africa presents its Witch Doctors with their weird charms and black magic, Egypt its oracles of the desert, while India has its rope mysteries and strange rites of its so-called Holy Men.
All of us have longed, at times, to see these wonders of far-away countries and have listened with eager ear when adventurers told us of them.
Dr. Tarbell brings you these colorful classics. Not only does he tell you their interesting stories but he actually performs these fascinating mysteries.
Figure
Let me repeat again and again—Tarbell is the greatest entertainment feature in America today.—
Phil Maxwell Chicago Tribune
THE HINDU ROPE MYSTERY
The greatest of all Hindu Rope Mysteries was created for the Hindu conjurors by Dr. Tarbell years ago. It created a furore in the world of mystery as it baffled both magicians and laymen alike. A. J. Liebling, in the New York World-Telegram, said it had created more gibbering insanity amongst audiences than any discovery of recent date. Dr. Tarbell features this mystery in Mysteries of the East.
EYELESS VISION AND MYSTERIES OF THE EAST ARE COMBINED INTO ONE GRAND PROGRAM
TARBELL EYELESS VISION
Figure
Dr. Tarbell more than pleased an audience of 2500. They are still talking about his utterly bewildering and uncanny Eyeless Vision with which he closed his program.
William K. Huff Director Philadelphia Forum.
This bunch of hard boiled skeptics came to see magic—but went away talking of miracles.
National Arts Club New York
Program chairmen owe it to their audiences to have them see Dr. Tarbell and his amazing mysteries.
Elbert Hubbard II
EVERYBODY LOVES MYSTERY
Our people were enthusiastic over Dr. Tarbell's program and he left behind an admiring audience. The deep public interest was shown by the excellent attendance in view of the very severe weather and the competition of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the same hour. We want another of Dr. Tarbell's programs for this season.
Charles D. Atkins Director Brooklyn Institute of Arts and Sciences
Dr. Tarbell was such a sensation the first time he was here and drew such an overflowing crowd that we had him return with four programs this season, and would like him back again with new programs next season. Dr. Tarbell looks human—yet while he is delightfully discussing profound science and philosophy he suddenly produces such astounding mysteries—that we wonder if he is really human.
C. C. Ogilvie Director Goodwyn Institute Memphis
To say that Dr. Tarbell's presentation was unique is to but mildly describe the response of his large audience to the unusual program which he offered. His was an amazing fete, and I hope that we shall have the pleasure of calling on him again.
S. D. Schwartz Director Sinai Temple Forum and Emil Hirsch Men's Club Chicago
