WAR IS NOT ALL BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS
If your members are tired of the usual run of War Commentators and are fed up with predictions and guesses — and want something to make them laugh, book
Colonel
Jack Major. He tells you the humorous side of the war (and the serious side if desired). In his lecture, WITH OUR BOYS IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC, he tells you how the Yanks live, what they do with their spare time, what they eat and how it's prepared, how they get along with the Aussie soldiers and about the American-Aussie romances; and last but not least — what they think of us back home.
He gives the only eye-witness lecture on the South Pacific War available to the lecture platform today.
HE WAS THERE!
Backed up with Original Authentic, Late, Natural Color Movies of the South Pacific War Zone, at small additional charge, if desired.
After June 1, 1944, the Colonel will make Paducah, Ky., his headquarters. This will make transportation cost less to organizations in the West, Middle West and South.

Mr. A. B. Bridges 6 Russell Street Baldwin, New York
Dear Mr. Bridges:
More than 2,300 people in World Adventure Series audiences heard Colonel Jack Major give his South Pacific lecture on January 30. Their reaction was so enthusiastic that we want him back next year.
Indeed, many told us that this was the star lecture of the season thus far. Certainly Jack Major has plenty of personality, so much humor as to keep the audience in stitches much of the time, plus a rare ability to make his subject
come alive
so that one feels right there in the South Pacific with him. I consider his message, too, a valuable one from a war morale standpoint.
The natural color motion pictures were excellent, and they help give an authentic
feel
to the South Pacific. A naturalist in the audience commenter on the scientific value of the shots of sea creatures, entirely aside from their human interest.
Add to these things the fact that Jack Major is exceptionally cooperative and eager to please both management and audience, and you'll see why we've already reserved a prominent spot for him on our next season's program.

Sincerely,
George F. Pierrot Director

Colonel
Jack Major. He makes you laugh! (The world needs laughter today)
Colonel Jack Major has been retained time and again in Washington by the
big-wigs
of our government. He was the after-dinner speaker at the famous
make-up
dinner given to President Roosevelt by Vice President Garner (February 12, 1938) … Hon. Jesse Jones, Secretary of Commerce had him address the Business Advisory Council (January 16, 1941) … On February 20, 1942 Hon. Sam Rayburn, Speaker of the House of Representatives, had him talk to the Representatives at a luncheon — and again on January 20, 1944 he told the Representatives about his trip and experiences to the South Pacific.
The
Colonel
is well qualified to fill the role of humorist. From his boyhood on he sat at the feet of and worshipped, and was the protege of, that gallant American story-teller, Irving S. Cobb. Audiences love JACK MAJOR, not only for the fun he makes — but because of the
humanness'
of what he has to say.
People say that JACK MAJOR kissed the blarney stone — no such thing. He is a native of Paducah, Ky. A biographical sketch reads like an O. Henry story or a Jack London tale of adventure. He has worked in shoe factories, been a carpenter, worked his way through college as a porter and as a singer in the famous Rice Hotel, Houston, travelled the seven seas as an ordinary seaman and has been retained as a speaker under contract by such companies as The Union Oil Company of California and The Texas Company. In addition he runs a farm!
A Major evening can be a never failing well, for his fund of stories and adventures is endless. No matter how often you have heard him he always presents something new. The General Electric Company of Lynn, Mass., has used him three times and has booked him for a fourth.
