SUBJECTS:
Under Dragon and Rainbow Flags
Chinese Characteristics
America and the Orient
The New China with America's opportunity is presented to the audience in a forceful manner. People will not soon forget the information and impressions received thru Mrs. Nicholas' lectures
.
The Chinese language is difficult to acquire but Mrs. Nicholas delightfully entertains her audiences by speaking and singing in the Chinese language

CHINESE PETITION.
An unusual distinction was conferred upon Mrs. Nicholas when she was in China. A seminary for young Chinese men sent a formal petition, drawn up in regulation Chinese style, requesting that she become president of the seminary. Such an honor is rarely conferred upon a woman in that land.

MR. WONG GANG HUO
Mr. Wong Gang Huo, a native Chinese, is at present a leader among Chinese officials and students. He was formerly a student under Mrs. Nicholas, and gave her credit of having helped him build his life so that it could be made of use to his country.

APPRECIATIONS
EDWARD L. RICE, Ph. D., Professor of Zoology, Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.
I have recently heard Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas' lecture on China—
Under Dragon and Rainbow Flags.
Mrs. Nicholas knows China thoroughly, the country and the people. Her personality is such that she can communicate her own enthusiasm to her hearers. Her lecture is fascinatingly interesting as well as instructive.
DR. JOHN H. WILLIAMSON, Chicago, Ill.
I gladly testify that the lecture
America and the Orient,
given by Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas, is a talk with a fund of information not to be read in books and not to be heard from anyone else except herself.
Her platform mannerisms and eloquence of speech make the lecture unique in itself and of inestimable pleasure and profit to the hearer.
S. E. AVEY, Postmaster, Mount Morris, Ill.
I have heard Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas speak on numerous occasions and can say I consider her a peer among public speakers. She has the ability to hold an audience and drive home any point she may wish to make.
J. P. LANDIS, D. D., Ph. D., Pres. The Bonebrake Theo. Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.
On the evening of December 28, 1920, I heard with great pleasure Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas deliver her lecture on her experiences and observations during a residence of eight years in China. She is a fluent and interesting speaker, a woman of fine personality and excellent descriptive powers. Many points were presented which I had never heard before, although I have listened to many lectures on China. This was in several respects the best of them all.
G. O. HIGLEY, Ph. D., Professor of Chemistry, Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware, Ohio.
This is to certify that I have been, for ten years, acquainted with Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas, and know her to be a woman of the highest Christian character and of excellent ability; also that I have recently heard Mrs. Nicholas in her lecture,
Under Dragon and Rainbow Flags,
and regard it as one of the best expositions of Chinese life that I have ever heard.
DR. A. SOMMERFELT, M. D., Greenbush, Minn.
Mrs. W. Simester Nicholas' lectures on China are not only interesting and entertaining word-pictures from this wonderful land, shown from the viewpoint of an American woman who has spent years back there as an educator, but they are much more. They are a call to the American public to wake up to see the wonderful opportunities in the awakening of this sleeping giant—opportunities of making a lasting friendship with a big, good-hearted brother, with many reciprocal gains.
A. W. ELLIOTT, Supt. of Schools, Wadsworth, Ohio.
Mrs. W. Simester Nicholas gave her inspiring and entertaining lecture entitled,
Under Dragon and Rainbow Flags,
to a crowded house in this city.
For an hour and a half the interest and attention given her was intense every moment. At the close of her lecture, the audience did not depart but lingered for another hour to enjoy her wonderful story and the charm of her conversation on this theme of her greatest thought.
JOHN H. BLACKBURN, Pastor First M. E. Church, Akron, Ohio.
The lecture given by Mrs. Winifred Simester Nicholas on
Under Dragon and Rainbow Flags,
was greatly appreciated by all who heard it. The speaker's knowledge of China, the life and customs of its people, and her graphic description of the same, held the interest of her audience throughout the address.
I would advise all who have the opportunity to hear this lecture, for its educational value in giving information concerning the Chinese people, and also that a greater interest may be aroused in this ancient nation that is certain to occupy a large place in the history of the world in the years just before us.
