DOROTHY WARING
Secret Agent 89
Miss Waring, a native of Alabama, was trained as a journalist. She has had extensive experience both here and in Europe as a writer on political and on international affairs. Inadvertently her profession led to her becoming an operative for her own country, when America was first confronted by the menace of Nazism, almost a decade ago.
Miss Waring, in her duties as a secret agent, made friends with the most infamous and dangerous Nazi spies at work in this country.
She gained national fame for her fearless expose of many enemies of America. She continues her efforts knowing that enemy agents are still arduously at work in our midst.
For obvious reasons the nature of her work at the present time cannot be disclosed; however, she is not a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
LISTEN AMERICAN!
ARE YOU AWARE THAT DESPITE THE ARREST OF MANY LEADERS OF GERMAN SECRET GROUPS THAT THE NEFARIOUS WORK OF AXIS AGENTS CONTINUES?
HEAR! Secret Agent 89
Investigator of subversive activities for a former Congressional Committee
Subject: FACTUAL PERFORMANCES OF NAZI SPIES IN THE U. S. A.
MISS WARING says: After I was sworn in and was working officially for my Government, I was assigned to get information about the Nazi organizations in this country operating on orders from Berlin. I was told, get concrete evidence; get to know the people back of the Nazi party here; get printed matter that they distribute; find out where the finances come from; learn what connections there may be with other organizations; investigate these alliances.
My first step was to join the Friends of New Germany, which later became the German-American Bund. I made application to become a volunteer worker in their offices.
I was investigated. My ability to speak foreign languages helped. I was fingerprinted. Then, in a day or two I was told they were ready to induct me. I had heard that there was a fantastic ritual. I was escorted to the meeting place in Yorkville (a German section of New York City). Storm Troopers in German Military Uniform Heil-ed. One stepped forward to explain that they were going to give my hair the Aryan fire test. A lock of my hair was snipped and burned. As it neither curled nor changed its blond color, I passed their test.
Through my Bund affiliations, I became confidential secretary of an American Fascist leader whose organization was closely associated with the Nazi groups here. I made valuable contacts there, one of which was William Dudley Pelley. I am proud to say, through my efforts, he and others with whom I mingled are now in prison.
DOROTHY WARING
The Only Woman Investigator (Acting Officially) of Subversive Activities, Miss Waring Tells About the Nazi-Inspired Groups That Operate in the United States With Undaunted Effrontery and Brazen Efficiency
Everyone who hears DOROTHY WARING'S story of Nazi underground methods will be on guard against Peace-feelers, usually planted by enemy sources to weaken our fighting spirit; and also be on the alert when persons are attacked because of religion, or of race.
The purpose of the Nazis is to destroy the precepts of democracy. They miss no opportunity of sowing seeds of discontent. They have not lessened their psychological warfare in the United States, though it has taken on more subtle form, nor have they relaxed their espionage activities as is evidenced by the numerous arrests and convictions for spying, and the 47 codes and ciphers relative to spying seized by the United States Government since Pearl Harbor.
Recently U. S. Attorney General Francis Biddle declared: THE SPEARHEAD OF THE FIFTH COLUMN HAS BEEN SMASHED ON PAPER ONLY
Proof of the Ceaseless Activities of Bundsmen Is the Continued Seizure by Our Government of Subtle Enemy Workers
