The child of today is the community—the state—the nation land the civilization of tomorrow.

TOMORROW'S CITIZENS TODAY
A single ounce of foundation of character in a child is worth a whole ton of reformation in a criminal or an adult failure of any kind.
FRED G. BALE
FRED G. BALE is one of the genuinely outstanding lecturers of the day. He deals with the most vital problems that can possibly be presented to the people of any community anywhere, and he has the ability to present these problems, powerfully, constructively, convincingly.
He talks on problems centering about the youth of today — tomorrow's citizens. And he speaks authoritatively from first-hand experience. As prosecutor in the Juvenile Court of Columbus, Ohio, one of the pioneer Juvenile Courts of America, a yearly average of 1500 children's cases passed under his observation. His opportunity to study the traits of the children known in society as the bad kids, and the conditions in society lying back of such children, has been practically unlimited.
But his studies have not been of abnormal children only. His messages come from contacts with children of all kinds and from all conditions of life. His lectures are not pessimistic or gloomy but are of the hard-hitting, fight-back type that inspires all hearers to better things.
He has humor, wit, pathos, brilliance of statement, eloquence, dynamic force, gripping dramatic power, rapid-fire delivery, tenderness of heart, burning conviction, fearlessness and utter sincerity. He arouses, convinces, grips, pounds, melts his way to the very hearts of his hearers. Every community in America should hear one or more of his lectures.
He makes equally good with any type of audience. He is just as much at home with farmers or laboring classes as with the most cultured university gathering. He is the same big success before Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, Women's Clubs, Teachers' Institutes, student groups or Chambers of Commerce. He never fails to win an audience.
He has lectured in practically every state in the United States and in every province in Canada. Almost every large city in the United States and Canada has heard him from once to half a dozen times.

Each and every one of these managers is an expert in the qualifications of a lecturer. Each knows the capabilities and accomplishments of a lecturer as an assayer knows pure gold. Read what these men have to say about Fred G. Bale. No lecturer ever received higher or more unqualified endorsements.

THE SUPREME ADVENTURE FOR ALL
FRED G. BALE
Letters from Bureau Managers
Fred G. Bale has been with me and has covered all of my circuits in Western Canada, appearing as many as three or four times. We have had many of the big lecturers in Western Canada—Irvin Cobb, Glen Frank, Judge Alden and other big headliners. I can frankly state that Bale made a greater, deeper and more lasting impression everywhere in my territory than any of these men. He was wonderful to work with, co-operative and helpful.
I'll bet my old hat that he'll make bigger and give any committee and community more constructive service for their money than any other lecturer they could get.
J. M. ERICKSON, The Canadian Chautauquas, Calgary, Alberta.
Dear Mr. Bale:
We have just completed compiling the data of the committee reports on talent for the 1927 Chautauqua season. I know you will be interested in the fact that these committee reports give you a rating for the entire season of 97.5%. This is another definite refutation of the statement that people do not like lectures. They emphatically do like lectures if the lecturer has a message and presents it interestingly and convincingly and in a way that challenges the thought of his hearers as you did.
If we could eliminate from the platform so-called lecturers who are talking merely to fill sixty minutes of time, and use instead lecturers like yourself who appreciate the great responsibility that is theirs in consuming from 500 to 2000 individual hours of the time of the people composing their audiences, we would have committees demanding more lectures and less of light entertainment.
We feel that you contributed very definitely and concretely toward the establishment of our new department of service to youth, and I am writing you this letter to let you know that both Chautauqua Committees and the Central Community Chautauqua System appreciate the genuine service rendered.
Cordially yours,
HARRY Z. FREEMAN, General Manager
Central Community Chautauqua System.
Fred Bale is one of the most forceful speakers on the platform today and has one of the most worthwhile messages for any American community. He has lectured for us a half dozen years, filling hundreds of engagements to our entire satisfaction. Everywhere he has won unqualified and most enthusiastic reports and not one adverse criticism. I will pledge you my reputation and twenty-five years' experience in the Lyceum business regarding Bale's making good, with any audience as one of the best they have ever had.
O. B. STEPHENSON, Manager Emerson Lyceum Bureau, Chicago.
I have always liked and admired Bale's lecture position and the fearless way he handles public questions. No one has ever given us better service on the Lyceum and Chautauqua platform in our entire experience in the business than Bale, and I know of no one who makes better with committees everywhere, than he has done for us in the number of seasons he has been with us.
WALTER RICKS, Manager Ellison-White Bureau, Portland, Ore.
